New Professions vs. Core Professions and Skills
New skills keep the professions fresh and exciting, opening up new ways to play the professions and bringing life to the game. It would appear from what we have seen so far, that with each new chapter, the core professions get more skills, some new, some duplicates, but I would imagine that the Assassin and Ritualist will not be getting any new skills in Nightfall. It is perfectly understandable and exceptable if a player cannot create a Ritualist or an Assassin in subsequent chapters or a Dervish or a Paragon in chapters following Nightfall. I also understand that since the core professions are, well 'core', that they will have the most skills and be the most versatile, and it does not make much business sense to continually update older games. However, it would be nice if there was a way to continue to add new skills, both elite and non elite, for the non core professions to keep them fresh and new so they do not fade into obscurity.
My idea to accomplish this is to add skill caps, both elite and non elite, to common areas that professions from all chapters can access without owning any other chapters, such as the Underworld (or any other realms of the gods that they may create in the future). Perhaps a skill trainer could also be placed in such places where you could purchase new some skills as well. This way they would not be updating an old product, core professions would still have more skills over all, there would be another reason to enter the realms of the gods besides farming and obsidian armor, and all professions would benefit from some new skills. Updates like this could be stand alone or done on the release of a new chapter.
