Dredge Nation
I hope nobody has posted this already, but I searched and couldn't find it so.... I don't know how many people have done the quests for the Dredge(the mole people), but I think they would make a good faction and nation. I didn't do all the quests yet, so I don't know if some of these ideas are implemented yet or not, but I think that since you fail to make the Kurzicks befriend the Dredge, how 'bout making them befriend the Luxons? Then you don't have to choose between the two when choosing faction. You could also make another faction bar for the Dredge so you can gain faction with them and buy stuff from them, AND make it so they don't attack you on sight. Now, if the majority of people in the party don't have Dredge Alliance, then they will attack you, but if the majority of people in the party do, then they don't attacl you. They would also need a capital(maybe the ruins you chase the Wardens out of, or someplace entirely different) and a couple of outposts(Maybe a cave and another ruin or something). I think the Dredge are pretty cool, especially since they have ties to Tyria(which is a lot better than Cantha). If you agree, please sign this, and if not, whatever floats your boat.

I want to know where they are really from. They were slaves in Tyria as far as I can tell, and almost a GW version of Europeans vs Native Americans in Factions. They were basically invading the Kurzick forests looking for a new place to live as far as I can tell. Maybe I didn't read their quests so well or misunderstood them.
I could see us doing more with the Dredge in future chapters if this continues.
Whoops didn't notice this was in Sardelac...Yeah, I'd like to see Dredge in future expansions...but to work for them...maybe...I'd still like to slash them with my axe, but wouldn't mind getting XP from their quests

Oh, you read it correctly. But considering how far they tunneled to reach cantha (all the way from SF), and that the latest scribe places part of Elona on the border of the crystal desert, I can see another group of dredge having tunneled to the much closer Elona, though the Dredge are clearly a tunnel dwelling race so they might not be able to survive living in a desert.

Kourna borders the vast Crystal Desert, and thus depends on a man-made irrigation system that brings water from the magnificent Elon River.

So I want to see more of the Dredge, maybe even their homeland.

Dredge may have been native to Elona to begin with. Their inspiration, naked mole rats, live in Africa...

Dredge don't seem like the brightest of the bunch... maybe as smart as Grawl.
I would question if they have a kindom, but maybe a Tribalistic Hive or Warden or something. More lore for the mob is already nice.

The Tribalistic stuff sounds pretty awesome. I think that quests from a dredge "chieftan" would be cool. I was thinking of one where you get sent out with a big party of dredge and fight the Kurziks or Wardens, that would be pretty cool. Or a mission for them where you raid an enemy supply shipment and give it to the dredge.

I like the Tribal idea. The Dredge are fighting for survival, so they wouldn't have a big government like the Kurzicks or Luxons, but I still think they need faction and their own outposts and maybe capital, just not as glorified and organized as the other capitals and towns in the game. But even mole people cities must look better than Cantha .
Some towns could even be underground, that be really cool.

Why Dredge? Tengu would be way better.
From what the Factions manual said, the Dredge in Cantha are escapees of the Dredge enslaved in Tyria, it says they dug tunnels all the way to Tyria and escaped, I'm rather vague at this point but I'm pretty sure that is what it said.

In my other thread, Territory-New Races, we discussed being Tengu. Tengu would be a sweet race to become. The Dredge on the other hand, would make a good faction because they have no ties to the rest of the civilised world as they are. They also wouldn't be the most ideal race for ANet to make playable because they are so huge and would take up a lot of space in the crowd, unlike dwarves and Tengu who are the same size or smaller than the humans. Right now I'd rather see the Dredge as a faction and the Tengu as playable, but who knows what the developers think.

How's this: the Dredge had some special artifact that could help them defeat their enemies in the war, unfortunately this "artifact" was captured long ago. The Dredge have come across some valuable information: the artifact is being transported from one city to another. Your job: intersect the transport and safely deliver the artifact to the Dredge chieftan. This could trigger many attacks on the Dredge, their enemies know that the artifact is their downfall in the war against the Dredge, your next job is to keep the Dredge safe. Or, the Dredge need resources, sadly, the nearest mines or whatever have been taken over, the former occupants slaughtered. Now slaughtering an entire mine of Dredge that's not the best idea when your on there side now is it, I didnt think so, and even worse, taking that mine for themselves... Your next mission: take back that mine. The Dredge are angry, their people try their best to help and are slaughtered on the spot. For every one dredge that died that day, two enemies shall fall, something like that. What do you think?

I had a new idea for a quest. What if you started in a Dredge outspot or the capital, and got a quest, "Raid on Sorrow's Furnace". You talk to a guy next to a tunnel after you get your party, and you pop out in Sorrow's Furnace. The quest objective would be to free the Dredge that are still enslaved there. I think that would be a cool job, plus it strengthens the connection between the Dredge and Tyria.
