Interesting fact: Blizzard recently banned a crap load of cd-keys because of former use of Maphack, regardless when. Funny thing is, the bots are still floating around -_-

Question!
If you are level 40, and the Rotscale is only at lv 28, does that mean you can pwn it with your eyes close?

hell, id be happy if they raised it to 30..
and added jumping.. so many more places you could go with jumping :P
however, they shouldnt implement any new updates into old vrsions. thats way to much to ask for (it would be really cool though). i say, every few ch's (3 or 4) at least TRY to increase the level cap by like.. 5 or something

To all those who think a higher lvl cap would be a good idea, you OBVIOUSLY have never seriously PvPed. The game is desigened around pvp, i mean its called GUILD WARS for petes sake. Raising the level cap would make it much more difficult for pve characters to be pvp ready (armor, equipment ect.) which is a problem because they are much more versatile, thus better. If you have to grind your way up there, its dumb. There is no reason to raise the lvl cap, the games difficulty can be moderated much more easily (pve leetness) with a low lvl cap, all the devs have to do is make a lvl 50 monster and gg, hell, if they really wanted to they could make AIs that could pwn most peoples socks off. If you have a hard time with high lvl monsters, it means YOU SUCK, not that your not strong enough.
as its been said by many people before me, if grinding for levels gets you off, go play a different mmo.
EDIT: And for all you who are whining about Rank, Its not that we high ranked people think you suck, its just that many of us (who DIDNT IWAY, not that i think iway is a bad build, it just generates people who cant play any other classes) went through MONTHS of s*** groups just to get where we are, and its not fair for us even if you are good to bitch that rank means nothing, because we were the ones who really did play and learn, and trust us when we say, we can tell a noob who iwayed to r9, because they tend not to know what to do in a real build. And oh yeah, if your saying "I cant get into groups because i have 0 rank", it means that you obviously dont want to play with other R0 people because you think they are nubs. There is a word for this, its called a hypocrite. Even if you have GvGed a lot, it means nothing in HoH, you dont know any of the hoh maps, you dont know hoh positioning and how it differes form gvg, and you dont know how hoh builds work over gvg. I often find a suprising number of people who have a lot of PvP experiance in GvG can't hoh at all.

You can go back to previous chapters(which is a great thing, removing that would suck, and..continue reading), meaning people with other chapters, if they took your advice, could go back to chapter 1 as...o lets say 30, and solo everything, ya, bad idea. Think before you suggest stupid ideas. Not letting us go to other chapters is not a solution to that either, by the way.

Well, I was referring to the rank situation becuase it caused discrimination amongst people with no rank. Okay, so you've worked your ass off for that rank, fair enough. The problem is that: there are players who IWAY'd their ways into their ranks. Do those people really deserve the chance to call others noobs because they can flash their rank over and over?
Now, if the level cap factor were to be introduced into the game, then wouldn't the same thing happen? I can see people who think the exact same way you do if you could reach level 100.
"OMFG I WORKED MY ASS OFF TO GET TO LEVEL 95, YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT ME BECAUSE I WORKED HARDER AT IT THAN YOU. GO AWAY, NO NOOBS, I WANT TO FARM THE FOW WITH 95+ ONLY." See the problem?
I honestly don't care about the rank system, but others do. But if a level cap is introduced, there will be more complaints about it afterwards. Remember all those threads about removing rank because it makes it stupidly hard to get into groups? Well, those could be replaced with threads that ask for removal of eye-candy levels because they, too, can't get into groups.

For the love of god, leave the World of Warcraft comments alone. If you don't like grind, then fine. World of Warcraft is a great game and really shouldn't be taking all this crap from Guild Wars players, honestly.

Look, this is one of the sole reasons GuildWars is different; the level cap is almost meaningless.
In other RPG games, you would have to spend months to get the desired level and finally get accepted into groups. But GW is not about grinding away for a high level; its mainly about PvP. Also, as posted before, it would create even higher elitism. The cap at 20 was a great decision as it works out for PvPers and PvEers. Also, this isn't WoW or Diablo or FinalFantasy, so please stop trying to make the game go your way as it will not happen. Anet made the game so we have to play by their rules, and it works out great for me.

QFT...
there is no reason to increase the level cap, no reason at all. 20 is fine. End of story

PLEASE STOP! People going on about an increase in level cap need to think more about what this would mean happening in GW
A: Most Enemies would have to have thee level increased.
B: A Higher Maximum amount of Att. Points would be needed.
C: It would loose the appeal that Anet are going for in GW, which is to make it a game based on your skill at the game rather than shear brute force to get through.
There is many other things but i'm not going to list them all now, apart from that this would slow the game down incredibly! while this is going on....do you really want that? do you want this game to be like every other MMo out there? NO!

If elitism would really wreck the PvE community don't you think it would have already done so with titles?
What I'm trying to discuss here is a way to bring more players to the game, and keep people interested longer. I'm not saying my ideas are the only way or the right way, but having a level 20 cap makes us look like a joke in the MMORPG community. I have 340+ skill points earned almost all of them spent. I have all 180 elites skill capped. I have 2 explorer titles maxed. I have 2 protector titles. Yet I'm still level 20 which is the same level someone who started there character 5 hours ago? It makes no role-playing sense. Level should have more meaning.
|
You have mentioned about titles (as they are now) not being important for FoW and UW - that in itself is true. But, I am sorry, but something like 'R/Mo95 Dana Hawkeye' wandering around ToA looks very elitist to me. Who are you gonna pick as a teamate for a FoW group? A level 95 or a level 20?
I too have both Explorer titles maxed, both Protector titles and the Advanced Skill Hunter title and am now working on getting every skill in the game on one character (218 more to get), plus i have over 5 million xp on the same character and I am still happy with being a level 20.
A higher level in PvE will only introduce the same problems as ranks do in PvP - Elitism, and god there is enough of it as it is in GW.
Another problem - BOTS - Would that mean they would be UBER Level 100?
