Not so much a weapon, but an option for an existing weapon. I'd like to see people weild a quarterstaff as a quarterstaff, rather than as a wand. Let's see a quarterstaff master!

I would still like to see a real spear, not just a Javalin; but it is very redundant with Paragons spear, and since Dervish is using a spinning scythe, halbreds are almost not worth adding, although you usually chop with a halbred instead of sweep.
I would like to see more weapon options for exsisting characters, expecially casters. Melee staffs with higher damage and lower attack speed would be great, they arn't neccessarily to improve melee combat, but to make it easier for PBAoE and touch casters to operate better with a melee weapon that actually grants mods relavent to their skills.
Some more Sword like Variations of Daggers would be nice, and I would like to see them bring back the underhanded daggers, or even better, allow an option to turn the blade the way you want in the weapon equip slot.
With a weapon wielding option on the weapon simular to the cape options, they could allow characters to choose which way we can hold certain weapons, like underhanded daggers, underhanded small swords, and perhaps even axes. They could also allow players to hold large swords with 2 hands, not to change the damage or anything, but both hands would be on the sword, and the shield would still be mounted to the arm, this would remedy the pesty need for a 2 handed sword buisness, a simple holding option.
A shriuken may as well be a skill instead of a weapon, I don't see them making all new skills for assassin shriuken weapons.
A chain weapon or whip would be great, I think it is the perfect weapon for a half range fighter, I don't know what he would do, but it is a nice low range weapon option.
Some sort of claws would be good for a savage melee type class, but I think something like etheral claws or something made of magic would be better than claw weapons.
The other thing is just a lot of original skins for weapons, not just wand skins for wands, they could be shaped like a sword, and still do the exact same thing as a wand, I still want to see a Mesmer with a Rapier type weapon, and it would be great if there were mesmer wands which looked like swords, and Elementist "staves" which looked like a crystal orb or beam of fire. Even cooler would be a Necromancer wand which is actually a snake wraped around your arm. Get creative with the weapons, skins don't need to be limited to a stout piece of timber.
A Giant Throwing weapon like a Mega Shriuken or a Large Chackram or a Mega Glaive would be cool, something that moves slow and hits any enemy it crosses.
I thought something really cool would be an actual pet as a weapon. Like a Falcon which flies from your arm and attacks the enemy. It could do low/continous attacks wile you are attacking an enemy, and when you switch targets it would fly to the next enemy and start scratching and pecking.
A good Tachi wielding class would be great, with a Katana, or set of blades all accompanied by sheaths. A drawing blade kind of weapon ideally used for Samurai.

Well, the question was about the futue of GW weapons...a spear is the future since it's in chapter 3..and I'm sure he knows it is, he was purposely saying that because he knows he can't be wrong

(making my own list, regardless of previous posts )
Fist fighting as an option (just fists, doesn't need gloves or knuckles though it would be an obvious choice)
Spears (and other polearms) in close combat
Staves in close combat
Two-handed swords/axes
One handed blunt weapons
Different fighting styles (ie. a broadsword requires very different style from a katana, but both can be held in one hand)
Throwing daggers/stars/boomerangs/etc. (not just limited to assassin skills)
One handed daggers
Shotguns
Flails/cat tails
Crossbows
Tatoos for elementalist (saw that suggested in a thread before, sounded like a good alternative to a wand - sorry to whoever came up with the idea, don't remember your nick)

Couldnt they incorporate Two-Handed swords under the current swords skills? two-handed swords could just give a bit more damage than normal maxed out swords, to make up for the lack of shield.
they could do the same with two-handed axes and one-handed hammers.

Me and my friend were talking the other day that Assasins should be able to throw their daggers. They do the same damage but they arn't effected by skills or enchantments.

That sounds alot like runescape to me, i wouldnt understand two handed swords and 2h axes whats the difference between one handers and 2hs?
i think the weapons we have now are pretty cool, but i wouldnt like anet turning guildwars weaponry into rs weaponry.

Um...Runescape isnt the end of all RPG weaponry. I dont like how you seem to insinuate that all those weapons neccessarily mean "runescape" because a lot of my ideas are coming from one of my favorite games of all time: Secret of Mana (seiken densetsu 2) with the exception of katars (which would be either Ragnarok Online or Soul Edge's Voldo).
http://strategywiki.org/wiki/Secret_of_Mana/Weapons
The weapons we have now are pretty cool, but variety is the spice of life and more choices and player options is always good.
And just because GW would have the same weapons as another game does not mean they would use it the same way, or make a direct copy.
-.- i mean really come on...

Heh, I included shotguns there just to see if anyone actually read it, thanks for confirming
The tatoo idea was that the elementalists gets tatoos on their hands and shoot fireballs from them (much like a wand, but it comes directly from the hand), and I pointed out that I would like spears in close combat, not just javelins like there will be in Nightfall.

0.o i see, but alot of those weapons seemed to scream RS to me : / oh well, it would be kind of odd to see a warrior go vs. a fist fighter but i really would like to see some creative weapons, and about the tats thing... oo now i understand. i wanna see some fiery dragon weapons, like wands and axes and staves, Or i want the weapons guy to allow you to alter the image of a weapon you currently own so people can use unique weapons that fit their personnality.

i love the idea of throwing stars at your enemys by way of sins, but the problem is that is not the type of game guild wars is. in guildwars we have 8 classes each adverised as specilized in their own field. if you want ranged you make a ranger, meele you make a sin or warrior or you make that your secondary. if guildwars was a game that let weapons determine skills(by this i mean you pick a class and wander around untill you find a weapon the is to your likeing, not knowing that when you become ranger you will use a bow) i would be all for shriken, but sadly its not. i see no reason to change the fundamental ideas in the game just to get a new weapon worked in.
