You like flying huh?
Well the ideia its simple, without ruin the balance of GuildWars.
Elementalist, when jump you can be 10seconds on the air, to escape from warriors and do the skills you need.
Then you have to wait 20seconds to do it again.
Rangers, mesmers, well all the profs that can hit, would continue to hit them in the exception of warriors and assassins.
Warrior, could jump normaly, but while jumping you cant do skills.. just atacking normally.
Ranger, could "Dodge", but just for X times.
Necromancer.. Same as ele.
Mesmer, invisible for 10 seconds, recharge time 20secs.
Monk, nothing.
Assassin, runing into walls and do huge jumps, for X time.
Ritualists, can be taken to air for 10 seconds by hes spirits.
The chars that have X times, i was thinking about a litle circle with blue around it, when the circle doesnt have anymore blue around it, it meens that you have spend it the "jump skill".
And to regain your party or you have to kill monsters/Players.
In PvP and PvE it would be very fun, and very tactical.

...Monks get nothing? Yep, very fair indeed.
You know...that mesmer could own a lot of people in that 10 seconds...
I don't think this was thought out too well, it WOULD imbalance the game
/notsigned...jumping isn't needed in this game, especially in this...manner.

The game mechanics doesn't allow for jumping, it has been discussed 1,000 times before.

Appart from the fact that that the game engine simply DOES NOT ALLOW these sort of stuff...it would RUIN the game since EVERY SINGLE SUGESTION you made is completely unbalanced.
Later.

They can add a working Z axis, and they should, and what more reason than to add some more verticle mechanics to the game?

Yea, because adding a Z axis is the easiest thing in the world and it takes like 12 seconds for an amatuer to do it....
It's the game engine, not the coding <_<

It would definitely unbalance the game in the use you described, not to mention over complicating melee. No matter how I think of these jumping/flying whatevers, I can't think of a way that they aren't overpowered. They just can't easily counter each other this way. Invisible Mesmers? *shudders in fear*.
But I will gladly take that helicopter with rocket propelled grenades.

Yeah because I pay enough for an entirely seperate game for each of these chapters, they have game programers, I don't expect newby shit.

I'd prefer if they just fixed the problem with bridges. For example; warriors attacking something 100 feet above them, and my ranger not being able to hit the guy standing right infront of him.

Do you have any idea how difficult it is to program a third dimension in a game?

I don't know, is it as difficult as making GW from scratch?, I paid 50 dollars for that too.
When are people going to recognize that we are getting inflated expansions for the cost of an entire game. Stop me of I am wrong, but I think most will agree that we got less in Factions than we did in Prophecies, yet we still pay 50 dollars. It honestly doesn't break my heart if they have to redevelope the engine with a function which should have been available from the begining, expecially when they intend to charge us the cost of an entirely new game every 6 months.
Lowely Peasant, the problem with Warriors being able to hit targets 100 feet above them is the lack of Z axis, so your saying I would "rather" have exactly what your describing BK.....
I grant GW the benifit of providing free online service, but it isn't exactly a revolutionary idea, they detached from Blizzard.... Hello, D2, WC and SC all had the same service, and they didn't need to pump out expansions on a biannual basis to keep it that way. This may be next generation, but if they are truely claimming "free" online gameplay, than that isn't a legitimate factor in the cost of each chapter.
We are getting glorified expansions for the cost of a full game, how much more obvious do I have to make it, I am about to go buy Derge of Cerberus for 50 dollars, a totaly seperate game, I just made a Pre-Order for another game, totaly unique, 50 dollars. We are getting the same engine, the same mechanics, and mostly simular gameplay with a few new characters and new locations, for 50 dollars, that is not even close to a bargain. I will admit it is a worthy amount of content, but it is far from meeting the actual payment recieved.

BahamutKaiser, I think you make an interesting point, but I suggest you post it in an already existing thread on the subject. This thread is pretty good. And for your reference, I found an interesting developer quote here on z-axis.
This thread is getting closed for redundency. We don't need multiple threads on the z-axis. I guess in a sense flying is technically a new topic, but really it's all a discussion of the z-axis. Frankly what matters is that the thread is going to hell rather quickly and is much the same discussion anyways. It's only the first page and already has several flames.
I will be putting the subject of the z-axis in the Index of Ideas, since it is brought up so much.
Closed.
