Scout Town without entering
I always hated that you have to enter a town, in order to get it avaible for map travel. I wish you could just find the town, speak to a guard outside or click on the name or something.
This is exspecially annoying when you have a quest running, you find a new town, but if you would enter it you'll lose your status in the quest and would have to start over again with the quest, cause you left the area.

Then just don't enter the town. Finish the quest and back track to the town. Or if the quest is taking you to another zone go in the town because it won't effect the quest.

It would be nice if there was a sign post outside of towns which you activated and it just said "Welcome to [TOWN NAME]" with possibly a short lore or description of the town, and then you could map to it.
But if they keep the stupid Gate method then there wont be any need for it. It would be especially useful in areas with few or inconveniant Rez Shrines, but where you want to clear the area without entering the town.
One to note is the Kurzick mission to arrive at unwaking waters, I was in the middle of doing that, with Mhenlo following me, when I entered an outpost I hadnt seen before, had to start over.
Yes I could have "not entered" but when i got to Unwaking waters I would have had to have entered there, and I would have had to have clear all those enemies again, just to find that outpost.

Yes and no... mega_jamie has a good point, I know what quest you're talkin about... While it would be good in a way, personally I'm not entirely bothered, I just use the new area I've arrived at as a quick drop off for gold and to sell the junk I've gathered.
Not sure...

No, it's definately them. What I do when reading and posting....I look and see what I want to read, right click and select open in new tab and keep going like that. By the time I've selected several, the first one is done loading....etc. When I post, I click submit and then go read some of the others I've selected while the message posts.

Just delete your double post instead of saying you're sorry about it.
Idea signed, sometimes I don't want to fight through 500 enemies to get to the same spot I've already been... twice.

Well the towns have a sign outside. Targetting that sign and hitting space could unlock the town on your map without having to actually enter it (and the player meets whatever requirements getting in has, ie factions closed doors)
Not really game breaking feature, more than a nice lil' bonus. Sure you could run all the way back from whatever you went to do, but.. What's the point in that running, when you could just map to the outpost you unlocked by hugging the sign 15 minutes earlier?

Useless upgrade for the reasons "BotherGuilburt" said on the second reply.
Later.
