Linked Accounts
I have multiple GW accounts, and I really wish there were some way to link all of them together so I could exchange items between characters as easily as between those on a single account. Otherwise, I have to use my husband's computer when he's not, and that's not often!
Maybe one account could be a "master" account, with additional accounts being "sub" accounts. I don't know.
I know I'll have to purchase chapter 2 for all of them, but I really think this could work.

What on earth would you need with more than one account? I mean, extra characters obviously, but why?

Why on earth have 2 accounts, so that you can have 1 of each professions. Took me awhile to get the 2nd account, but I am very glad that I did. I would never want to delete any of my toons to try the other two. And now that I have tried the last two, I have learned the complete skill set. I think this will greatly improve my PVP strategy.
Why link them
1) share resources, gold items, materials. It is very annoying shuffling between accounts.
2) Simplify friends lists. Some of my friends carry 3 accounts. Takes alot of space on the friends bar. One friend I thought gave up the game, but he was just playing a new 2nd account.
3) Share fame - you get rank 3, then want to play with a toon on your new account. All of a sudden you gotta chug out your time with the rank 0 folks again. No one wants to do that more than once.

Why not Bistro? I also have 2 accounts. 4 Slots just isn't enough. And I consider myself a casual GW player. 1 PvP slot and three char. slots with all the different combo possibilities-I like to play with different builds. Plus to unlock skills I like to use at least one of every class. I eventually broke down and bought a second account myself. So I have 6 PvE slots and 2 PvP slots.
Anyway, back to the topic. I agree with you Cyn. Lucky for me I know a couple of people who I trust and have had no problem helping me move items between accounts. However, I do feel bad asking them to help me with this. It would be great if somehow my storage was linked with the two accounts and then I could transfer items through the storage rather than asking someone to help me move items. Another possibilty, since I have two disks loaded on my comp. I was hoping that I could open two windows of GW. That would have made it very easy to switch screens and trade with myself.

The upcoming guild storage should alleviate some of the problems.

we have a total of 5 accounts in our house.
1x mine
1x wife
1x daughter
1x son
1x shared storage accounts (4x pve chars rushed thru pre to become storage boxes)
----
buying 3 more accounts this weekend
1x for me
1x for wife
1x for son
---daughter doesnt play anymore due to ingame pervs....... ...but still wants to keep her account
we all have a computer each & atleast another 4 in spare parts so trading between accounts is quick & effortless.....i seriously dont think i could play this game without a spare storage account.....i have 2 much crap in my inventory
-----
am i a freak?....no
do i work for a living....sometimes
i dont see a negative side to having multiple accounts... be it for storage, PvP slots or more PvE chars.......its all good

I have two accounts, though not for "mule" reasons but so that I can experience the game from any angle, any role. I have one of each proffesion, and one open slot on each account for pvp. It's great, truly! I have all secondaries unlocked for each of my characters, which means when I can use almost any build (minus some of the elite skills I haven't had time to get). Makes for a great experience, since now I can fill any roll when grouping. Need a monk, np! Need a necro, np! Need an SS with Me secondary instead of my current MM build with Mo secondary, np!
Anyway, it's a lot of fun having a second account, but I have to say it sucks having to either a) screw with my computers registry to run two instances or b) setup my laptop and login via a second computer to share items, or last c) trust someone with handing the items back (?!insane unless you really know the person?!).

I asked Gaile about this before. It was pretty much a big NO. Have a screenshot of it, so I'll go look for it.
Ok, so wasn't exactly a big no, but its not very positive.
I myself want it, as my girlfriend and brother have basically stopped playing, but I play on their accounts, I would like to just merge them so I can share storage and such and be able to give them money, materials and weapons without pestering someone to help me out while I log in and out.

I can understand why...it shouldn't be that those who can afford a second account should get an advantage. On the other hand, those that buy a second account ARE increasing their revenue streams, and most likely will find a way to share between accounts anyway.
The only other reason why I could see this as a bad thing is for the bot ebay sellers...it would definitely benefit them...

While I don't have any problems transfering items between accounts (have a coupple of computers), I do have the problems with unlocking everything several times, sharing of fame/rank, friends list and such. However, I would not want my accounts to all be in the same guild and I would like to be able to play them all at the same time, so im only semi-signing this. I do want some way of sharing some stuff between accounts, but I want to keep some of the things seperated as well. Yes, that would probably be very hard to achieve technicaly, but it would be sweet. Should the alternative be either a full merge or no merge at all, I would probably go for a full merge though..

Agreed...I'm not looking to share faction and unlocks. Just sharing items/gold between accounts would be easier. I don't think this would be very difficult to implement. Anet could just add a link at the bottom of the storage window for "share with other account" which prompts for email/password. Hell, they could charge a fee for this as well if they wanted to (100g, 1k, whatever). I just want to be able to share gold/plat/items between char's without having to screw with my registry or pull out my other computer.

To be honest, all I want to do, if I buy another license, is have the extra character slots on my account.
I haven't bought a second account yet, although I am toying with the idea. The only thing that annoys me about the idea is not being able to share the storage and the possibility that I'd have to buy one copy of the chapter per account I own. (Unless anyone else knows otherwise?)
I don't mind buying the extra character slots but I do object to having to buy an exponential number of expansions.

it has been confirmed many times that each account is separate and will require a separate upgrade.
why should they have to pay for an extra free account for anybody?
buy the original game and one of each new chapter and then pass it to family and friends for free?
they would be cutting their income to nothing as free add ons spread.
10 minutes til the chapter 2 key codes were up for grabs on the web sites.
1 account 1 upgrade.

If I could buy another account and link it, I would. Till then, they are not getting more money out of me to start over with no skills/fame/faction.
Unless my guild starts smurfing really hard, and I need another account to.......ohh wait, smurfing is wrong.

I hardly play my one character enough let alone have 3 more full time ones to play. Some people must just be addicted to this game to have to have more than one account. I've used my one character to unlock the skill sets of just about all the other characters except the messer which I don't particularly like but there are a few skills I like to use that they have. I've piddled with the monk and ranger and necro, but, my alltime most fun one is still the Warrior with monk/necro/messer skills. The W/N is starting to be a lot of fun and the W/Me isn't too bad either. Arcane thievery is hilarious and the feedback you get from players when you steal their best spell and then use it on THEM is even more hilarious.
But, I will /sign for those of you that are addicted. I myself will never need more than one account I'm pretty sure.

how can u let 2 accounts have same storage... hmmm....
it is a though question... like what relate one account to another?
could be like:
u have an account..... u ask for a "merge cdkey" (from a generator of Guild Wars for example) > u add that cdkey to ur other account > ......and then what? u get in that "merged account" put items in storage... > u go in the original account and have those items there? it's like having a Bigger single account i'd say...
anyway there is a problem try to think of it on ur own and in theory and only in theory there are logic problems of HOW could u do it...
