This is the final straw on changing your secondary profession. It's completely ridiculous with the addition of these new battle islands. I have to now map 4 times if I want to change my secondary, and it's a big waste of my time. I mean I am a dedicated player that earned all the secondary classes and every skill from the mesmer, monk, and necromancer professions, but I can only change them in 3 places in the entire game? I say that they give us the ability to change our secondary profession via the Hero [H] screen. I don't see any problem in that, it would allow me to advertise: Me/Mo or Me/N with every skill LFG! I personally think this change would be second only to the taking away of Attribute Refund points because everyone was stuck with using one build for a long time.

This is what happens when I am in PvP. I get in a team, then for some reason I need to swap from Me/Mo to Me/N or vice versa, so I have to do this: PvP Team Arenas > Lion's Arch > Seekers Pass > Great Temple of Balthazar > PvP Teams Arenas of the same dist and hope they haven't found someone else, decided to enter or disbanded.

The current system of changing secondary professions is a pain, and there's no point in it. You can already change secondary, I don't see why they make you move around so many times just to swap it.

So... the suggestion is:

Let us change our secondary profession on the Hero [H] screen or give the skill trainers the ability to swap your secondary as long as you've earned it. If there isn't a skill trainer in the town, make a new NPC. This job could also be done by Priest of Balthazar in PVP areas. As long as there is a person in EVERY town or at least every town and outpost after ascension and ones that you go back to later.

EDIT: Also allow PVP characters to do this. It's already a pain to recreate the entire character just to change secondary. I know when I play Mo I am almost always boon/prot. But the problem is that I like to run a Mo/N and a Mo/E variation, but if one doesn't appeal to me at the time, I have to completely reroll. I think you should have to reroll if you want to change your primary, because that involves weapons, clothes, runes, etc, but not for a secondary change.

I say we make it so that PVP AND PVE characters can change their secondary professions from the [H]ero screen.

Yup, very good idea, it would save a lot of trouble and u can switch anyway ones u have done the profesion quests.It would be great if u can do it in the hero screen instead of having to travel to seekers all the time

Also, I wish they would make it so if you unlock skills with one pve char, you can get those skills when you switch secondaries with another pve char.

Personally, I think the map is enough.. I come from a long line of MMO's (L2, RYL, FF Online) That required you to RUN from town to town.. I'm talking 10-15 minute transitions. I think map changing is quick enough.

Although the secondary profession swapper in every town is a good idea.

Just fix the retarded map travel they have from there now. What genius decided to make it so you can only travel to LA from there, or from your guild hall? Form a Tombs/Hero's Ascent group in your hall, but 2 members have to leave because only 6 are allowed in LA. Absolutely retarded. Hopefully someone loses their job over that lunacy.

this would devalue the "customization". Every one would advertise them self as " I am a Wa/ and anything you want me to be"

I am from the old school, with the thinking of the game should not be too easy (I am already frown upon that free attribute point distrubtion... where are the refund points?) In any case, it would add on more confusion in finding team than it already is.

Well they can do it now, with some heavy mapping. It (mapping around) might discourage people from doing so (W/* lf team), but I've mapped around changing my secondary based on what the team needs.. *shrug*

IMO, it would make "customization" much more easier, as you could change your skillset with relative ease to what is needed.

No problem spending an extra 10-15 min as long as it's fun or challenging, but having to click and teleport through extra areas is neither in my book.

maybe for PvP builds. but not for PvE. its messes up the story line too much. And just cause you don't like mapping around and doing a short quest for each doesn't mean your not lazy... cause its still rather simple to do this. and you will still be able to go secondaries with Rituralists and assassins at Chapter 2 release...

i think you may have missed the point. the OP has already completed the necessary quests and obtained the necessary skills. he already can switch secondaries at will. the problem is that, from the pvp maps, it takes 4 map travels to have to do this.

this definitely is very annoying from a pvp standpoint. being able to change your build to suit the needs of your team is a lot more important for pvp. it is also annoying for pvp-only characters to have to be re-rolled every single time a build needs changing. provided that one can already do it anyway, there should be an easier way to change secondaries to allow for faster flexibility.

I think being able to change secondaries from the [H]ero screen takes something away from the role-playing portion of the game. Additionally, if your TEAM can't wait 2 min for you to change secondaries to complement the TEAM build... you may have been better off without them.
