Armour: Wear & Tear
So I was stood in LA yesterday looking at my character's shiny metal carapace thinking "Wouldn't it be cool if his armour changed in appearance as the character got more experience?".
Now I know this would be hard to implement, but I think it could look really cool; you could spot grizzled old veterans easily by the dents and scratches in their armour. And n00bs would stick out like a sore thumb, even in their ebayed FoW, due to being all shiny and new.
The same idea could be applied to weapons and shields too.
Would be very hard to implement on the other classes, but the GW artists are so talented, I'm sure that they could come up with something
Of course, some people would want their armour to stay eternally shiny, so make it a tickbox option like the titles, so it can be turned on and off.

Sounds like a good idea I want my war's armor to show a little bit of battle scars instead of looking like it has never been used before.

Yeah, but what about all the people with FoW armor who don't want it all dinged up. They'd be pretty ticked to see thier armor change over time agaisnt their will.

Read the last part, he suggested you could turn it on and off at will...

Depending how this was done; it could either look cool or really really bad.

It's an interesting idea, but I wouldn't want it, and I highly doubt it's gonna happen. In order to implement the system, an immense amount of new graphics work (and probably new programming code) would have to be put into place. Frankly, I don't think ANet is going to want to go to all that work so that people can have body-shop-ready armor.
And besides: what's the point of doing that to be different, when everyone will have the same kind of scratches and dents after a while?

Warrior - dents and scratches
Ranger - marks on a piece of leather for every 1000 kills (like counting days in prison or something similar)
Ele - add a gem or something similar for every 1000 kills
Mesmer - more sparkles or intricate stitching for every 1000 kills
Necro - more caked on blood? for scars, more background scars (where the actual scars aren't)
Monk - similar to ranger, but with some holy icon
Assassin - more daggers per 1000 kills
Ritualist - not sure, but someone out there that plays Rt could come up with something
