Default Buddy Program

IDEA
there should be a program called the buddy program where you help some1 that jus joined the game for rewards

allow level 20s to use the buddy program to help someone that started the game would help the new person learn more about the game and how to play and the level 20 (buddy) would get rewarded for how many buddys they completed the program with ex. from level 1-7 or 1-10

1 buddy- title "New Buddy"
5 buddys- title "Friendly Buddy"
10 buddys- title "Big Buddy"
25 buddys- title "Super Buddy"
200 buddys- title "Whos Your Buddy" (max)
200+buddys- 250 extra xp per buddy help

500 xp per buddy that you help

The program could simply be a tutorial that you walk threw with your buddy and at the end there is something much like insignias in factions that u have to take a test to see what he taught you and how helpfully he was on a scale 1-10

when u make a new char after you choose the faction or profices or soon night fall u choose to enroll into the buddy program or to jus do it yourself

comment i think it would be an awsome way to get new players into the game faster and know what they are doing and a simple way to put little cash in your pocket but isnt enough to extreamly unbalance the game

Comment plz

your sposed to help people in a selfless act not for your own personal gain you selfish (in the interest of not getting banned I shall not finish this statement).

Oh and I think I could spell tutorial when I was a freshmen... actually I think that was on my 6th grade spelling test... I'm huked on fonikz

I could see a moron making a bot to do this all day... seriously, it would be so easy its funny.
"Welcome to the tutorial"
"Hey I'm new"
"This is how we kill things and use skills"
"You're a jerk"
"Please target the dummy and click or press 1 to activate your skill"
"No"
"This is how we heal when we get low on life"
"...I hate this game"

This could be easily exploited as friends in the game could make new characters and have someone else that's trying to obtain the title use this buddy program over and over.

level 10 is a little low, on factions I can get to level 10 in 2 hours of non-stop playing, on prophecies, you're practically level 10 when leavin pre-searing.

You don't help people for gold. You help them to be nice and get friends...

Also there an EDIT button. Please use that rather than making a whole new post...

bro i can see where your coming from but personly when i first started i did not see anyone looking to help me out everyone was like your a noob..................so this would be jus a way to help people and you could take out the money that would be fine with me but personly i would love to walk around with the "whos your buddy" title

i no alot of ppl are nice now and help others but this would get those that do some rewards and mabey get those that dont to move on and help some1 insted of being mean and not helping

it would see if the account has ever used the buddy program and for what proffession

personly i am HORRABLE at monk so i would like to go threw the buddy program with some1 that is an expert and can help me along

and im sorry i am really bad at spelling i no i havent done any hooked on fonix or any of that and i almost failed english so srry bout that

While I like the motivation behind the idea, the idea itself is 1) highly exploitable
2)rewarding people for stuff they should do out of the kindness of their hearts(too many jerks will scare away new people for money).
I'm sure there are ways to tweak certain things to keep it from being exploited, but you can't rule out human nature without a very good interview process....
My suggestion would be start a guild with a name like "helpers guild" or something and just go around helping people. And gather people willing to help you help. While it would be nice to see an area specifically designed to help you tutor someone in a certain profession or something, its probably not going to show up anytime soon. PreSearing will have to do for now.

No, the title is the award that everyone cares about anyway. People would probably do this just for the title. Not many experianced players(hopefully are level 20s) need XP anyway.

you cant have this title implemented, if you're getting flamed by people calling you a noob, ignore them, they were rude retards before they talked to you.

If you want to help someone, you do it at your own expense. The reward for helping someone is knowing that you are helping someone. That is reward enough^^.

Personally I this idea sucks....If there has to be a reward for helping people it should be an expanded Friends list, beacuse if you really do help alot of people its what you need - I personally have been converted to the line of helping newbies after completeting both chapters...I mena what else is there to do, and as a result I have a rather full freinds list. Charity should be an Selfless act and at the risk of sounding like an afterschool special - Being nice is its own reward

On the same note, anyone recently coming off SHing Jea feel free to PM Sant Leo for free Baazar collectors chest, im currently saving up those bracelets

There is something similar in place already on the Guru site. I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this... http://www.guildwarsguru.com/player_status.php

An alternative to what you've posted is giving new players a link to useful sites like Guru and Wiki rather than making them search for them.
