yawn, so many posts, so little will to read through them all. I will just post my most desireable wishes. These just has to come through ^^
-If you are wielding a fiery longbow of something, there should be a visible bow string, and it should be fiery The same goes for icy, ebon etc.
-More pets! (i know this has been said mulitple times). The pets should not all do the same damage, they should have different armor, attack speed, damage and so on. You should be able to customize your pet to a much further degree than just the name. Ear size, dirty/clean teeths, color, size, long haired/ short haired(not sure of the english words for this), fat/skinny etc. Think the sims I want some pets to attack from above, some with a low block rate, some with undodgeable attacks that take less damage and so on.
-I want more choices in the looks of yourself, your armor and your weapon. Yes, you can dye your bow blue, but that doesnt really cut it. I want gloing stuff, glowing dyes, maybe 3 kinds of droks druids armor, since every ranger has one. I would like looks not to be judged by who has the most money, but who can make the best combination of armor types(not like fur-lined and druids, but druids 1 and druids 2), glowing parts, dyeing. The more choices the better..
-Beast mastery improvements. Not the pets. I want BM weapons, like whips or something.
-Last of all I would like less favorisation of warriors. Warriors have the most armor types, unique armor pieces, they have tons of different hats, they have the best rune possibilities. Give rangers some hot new armors, remove the ugly parts from the druids droks armor(dont know about the 15k ones). And I want that low-res in the character selection for rangers go away.

You dumbass, I'm talking about ALL the male ranger's armor. Even the new one we previewed in the expansion! I didn't get the 15K armor for that reason. I have no options!

Anyone remember the Beastmaster movies/tv show....
Why do we have only 1 pet to choose from?
My idea is to have a kennel/mengarie similer to the Xunlei Storage in outposts/towns where we can put a pet in storage and take another pet out without having to "completely give up" a pet(s) we helped develop.
Afterall The Beastmaster in the movie/tv had multiple choices of pets for what needs he had. No, I am not suggesting we have more than 1 pet "out" at a time just the ability to choose from different ones.
As for suggestions for animals to be used as pets:
Already in GW;
Any animal with 4 or more legs(in other words all non walking on 2 feet creatures) Imagine trying to Charm a Minotaur/Drake while it's trying to kill you.
New animals;
Ferrets!!!/weasels/martens, Badgers, Wolverines, Birds(Crows !!!,Hawks,Eagles,Owls), Snakes, Fox,Coyote,Jackel(Jakyl), Hyenas...

/signed, I completely agree with this. I mean all the pets do pretty much the same dmg, have the same AL, etc. So what could it hurt to have a kennel of your pets? Have some kind of a fee whenever you use it, it'd be a terrific money sink.

The problem with this would be that Minos and drakes and griffons would be too powerful of a pet. They would look super cool, but they'd just be WAY too tough. On the other hand, they have miniature poodles, why not miniature griffons?

This would be difficult at best to implement. They'd have to add them all to the game. Would, imo, be too difficult to implement. On the other hand, having a flying pet would be nice. Even have a skill, for any animal, that would allow you to take control of it for brief periods and even see through it's eyes. Hey, if Beastmaster can do it........

a fox, sweet!
what if different animals had "special" extra bonuses for that type of animal?
like a bear had a better melee attack
a melandrus stalker was faster and thus harder to hit
a fox could scout an extra 25% of the map ahead of you so you know if you have enemies ahead, or something like that. something to do with scouting.
a bird could do that too.

I really liked the fetch Dead party member. it was an interesting option... also the elite charm beast... lol I can see us all using Stalking Night as pets with this skill, or Terrorweb Dryders. lol I have wanted a Stalking Night since the firsttime I saw it. My dune lizard is close, just not as cool looking....

why does it have to be a staff... cmon get real.
you could have some offhand item that worked with bows... so trappers got some extra energy and stuff
...i dunno maybe.... "Improved Trapping Gear"
just something i came up with in 20 seconds... so dont rant about it

Suggestion:
New skill: Arrow Lunge
Arrow Lunge - Melee Attack - Lunge an arrow towards a person attacking you close-up. Target takes ?? damage and begins bleeding for ?? seconds. You may only use this skill if the enemy is attacking you.
Just thought of it out of my mind, not important or anything.
when i say lunge an arrow, i mean your character actually takes the arrow and lunges it as if it were a sword

Biggest thing needed for Rangers right now are pet commands. All we need is a small little command bar with 3 commands(attack, guard, return). Here's a pick of a command bar from another NCSoft game Auto Assault.
This bar is EXACTLY what pets need and should be easily modified for use with pets or henchman.

i think that having a bird would be a superb i'd and the different types of bird, i'd love to have a falcon or eagle <i can see my falcon now "horus". your other ideas as for the quivers, and bow string, i totally agree, excellent thread idea. as well as some of the other ideas, others have posted as well.
awsome..

Yea, a pet bar would be much better and make it easier so the pets dont aggro when not needed

Dual Wield
Personally, I'd like to see....
Rangers should be able to dual wield weapons like in EQ and D&D but at the cost of damage dealing and armor.
In many MMORPGs Rangers can dual wield a primary and off-hand weapon.
I know the off-hand attack is an Assasin attack.. but the Ranger should be able to yield 2 one handed weapons.
How about this ofr a strategy trade-off.
Dual Wield
cost: Armor decreased by 33% while attacking with 2nd weapon
2nd weapon deals 25% less maximum damage and/or hits 1/3 the time.
So every 3 attacks you get an additional attack but if you are hit by a foe during that 2nd attack.... you take more damage
Seems like a fair trade-off.
