"scenes", not ceans.

I think they don't add in a chat, because people would feel uncomfortable watching the movie if 7 whammo's are going: ' OMG SKIP MOVIE!!!!!oneoneone' like you just did.

Aesthetics > people who don't like the storyline I guess...

Not everyone has been through the game so why should they be denied access to the unfolding story just because you've already seen it? Anet already implemented a "freeze" so that minions don't degen, enchantments don't expire, etc so how bad is it to wait 30-60 seconds for a movie?

You could always play with henchies, they always want to skip it.

How about... forget it. That's right. You already cast your vote to skip by pressing the Skip button, and it's every player's right to watch that cut-scene all the way through. You have no say other than that button what you think others on your team should do.

Personally, I find the cut-scenes to be a welcome break for when I just want to get my hands off the keyboard for a few seconds and chill out a little before things return to CPD (Chaos Panic Disorder).

In retrospect, it *would* be a good idea for people who have seen the scenes and are in the middle of conversation. But there's always people who will complain about not skipping too... you can turn off team chat easily enough <_<

When you press the skip button, a message shows at the top of the scene eg "1 out of 4 players wish to skip". So they do know that you wish to skip...

Not only can they see that others clicked skip, but you can tell them to hit skip before the cutscene. If they still don't skip then being able to talk to them as the cutscene plays wouldn't be able to convince them to skip anyway.

So you're in the middle of a battle, surrounded by twenty afflicted,
and have a nice casual text conversation. Suddenly the cut scene
come up and interrupts you pleasant conversation.... I don't think
so!

I think they should change the "Skip" button to automatically load you into the outpost before your group.

^Not all the cutscenes are at the end of the mission.

If you know there's a cut scene coming up, you can ask people to skip it beforehand. If they don't skip it, have the good grace to realize that maybe, just maybe, they haven't seen it before and would enjoy the opportunity to see it. Other than the 30 - 60 seconds it takes to watch a cut-scene (and the hearing damage caused by the grating voices of some characters ), you're not losing anything by watching along with the new guys & gals. Neither of these things justify someone whining about people not skipping them.

While you might want to use it sometimes I think that a chat window might block some of the cut scene and possibly ruin it for a player who hasn't seen it yet.

As it is right now, there's no way for anyone to tell that I'm the one who doesn't skip the cutscenes, even after playing for 18 months.

Oh, wait. Dammit.

OK, so maybe now they'll know...but for those who haven't seen it before...or just want to see it again (we do exist)...it would be entirely distracting (and rude) for all the reasons mentioned above.

Typically, I only skip the cutscenes if I'm the last one who hasn't clicked skip. I'd hate for the one lone person who hadn't seen them before feel like the whole party was pressuring them to skip.

Dude, I'm sure that once you first started playing GW, you watched the cutscenes, wanted to see the story un-fold, etc. Also, many of the cutscenes at the end of a mission can only be re-watched by completing the mission again, which most people don't want to go through. So just do the world a favor and have some patience for 30-60 seconds.....

Broken english aside, that is "their time". They are playing the same mission as you remember? "Their time" is just as valuable as "your time."

I recommend using "your time" to study rather than play Guild Wars. The world will be a better place for it.....

Maybe they already skipped the first time and they're doing it again to watch the cutscene.

What would be more annoying? People spamming someone who hasn't skipped, witch-hunting until they find the culprit? Or patiently waiting through a cutscene?
