Class ideas: Cavalier and Alchemist/Demolitioner/Tinker
Have been thinking on some new classes for Guild Wars lately, and I have came up with two new ideas. Well actually three, but the third one is somewhat linked to the first class idea. I will go further into my third idea after the description of the classes I made up.
(The) Cavalier
Using a mount and a Lance/Harberd, the Cavalier can ride into battle with staggering prowress.
Primary Weapon: Lance and/or Harberd that become more effective while mounted.
Secondary Item: Shield, other (or none).
Armor Class: Similuar to a Warrior, maybe a Ranger.
Skills:
Riding (Primary) - You recieve +A to maximum health and +B to armor when mounted for each rank in this skill.
Lance/Halberd/Polearm Mastery - Increases damage done with Lances/Halberds/Polearms. Many skills that require you to use an Lance/Harberd/Polearm will become more effective with a high rank in this skill.
Defence - Many defencive skills, such as certain stances, will become more effective with a high rank in this skill.
Virtue - Many skills that affect other members in your party will become more effective with a high rank of this skill.
(The) Alchemist/Demolitioner/Tinkerer
Mixing potions and crafting explosives is a good way to make sure the enemies will have a tough time getting to the Alchemist/Demolitioner/Tinkerer and her allies.
Primary Weapon: Magical or Semi-magical Gun/Rifle/Musket.
Secondary Item: Herb Bag/Medical Bag, Gunpowder Horn, other (or none).
Armor Class: Either similuar to a Ranger or Elementalist.
Skills:
Herblore (Primary) - Reduces the reuse timers of your potion related skills by C% for each rank in this skill.
Gun/Rifle/Musket Mastery - Increases damage done by Gun/Rifle/Musket, and many skills that require you to use a Gun/Rifle/Musket will become more effective with a high rank in this skill.
Alchemy - Many skills related to potions become more effective with a high rank in this skill.
Demolitions - Many skills related to explosives and grenade-like weapons become more effective with a high rank of this skill.
Mounted Combat
An interresting element that could possibly be well implemented to Guild Wars is mounted combat. Allowing characters to ride into battle on mounts and perform special mounted actions would add an interresting flavor to Guild Wars combat as well as adding another element of customisation. One way this could be implemented is by using the skill bar similuar to the Rangers beast skills; Adding a cathegory for Mount/Riding Skills (preferably to all players). Mounting a player could be simple; Just add the "mount" you would like to ride (example: Black Horse) to your skill bar. This would allow the player to be fully mounted while on adventure, but not while in town (makes sence anyhow). Is this isn't enough, you could let the player to use a special move/ability linked specifically to that mount by using the icon. Other riding skills should be avalable for all mounts. However, the class that should, by my ideas, draw most benefit by being mounted is the Cavalier class, as described.

Hard to say it is orginal... but good idea never the less. A Mount type class and a Alchemist/Engineer type are two of the more popular Concept Class around.

I vote in favor of mounting.

Possibly, but then a secondary alchemist would not be able to perform alchemy at all. Personally I think that would be odd. "Herblore" is quite related to alchemy (or specialized alchemy) and fit as a Primary attribute in my opinion.

I'm srry to say that, the alchemist probably WONT be put in to GW, since it would be too out of place for the time period, especially grenades.... Nice ideas, but most likely, they wont be used.
