Guild Wars Chapter 4 = Greek ?
Hi I'm just wondering.
Each GW had their own Theme now.
Prophecis = Medieval theme
Cantha = Asian theme
Elona = Africa/Egyptian.
So that makes mine oppinion clear, Shall Chapter 4 Greek themed?

Cantha is ASIA themed, Assassins are ninjas pretty much.
Elona = African/Egyptian, not Eluna >>
And it's Middle Eastern themed. Babylon and such were not in Africa, they were in the Middle East.
But yeah, Greek would be cool. One problem with the mythologies is that Anet will keep using the same 5 gods (it makes complete sense how the gods are pronounced the way they are in Cantha and Elona). So any Zeus-like God and such will not be used =/
At least change the name of the gods >>

I think i know the chapter 4 is going to be about. Zeus and Balthazar beating the heck out of eachother. Zeus uses Lightning and Balthazar uses Balthazar's Aura, Bane signet etc and smiting skills... and uses Balthazar's Spirit for energy management...

Probably not, because the Paragon looks like a spartan, which is greek.
I'd say the next campaign might be Native American, like Incan, Mayan, Aztec, and other smaller tribes like Pueblo.

Greek would be cool, but I'd rather see a celtic/norse chapter first.

Come to think of it, Ancient Greece did have significant interactions with North African/Middle Eastern cultures of its time, so it's entirely possible there may be some Greek flavour in one of the other provinces.
That said, the Luxon names in Factions also seemed to have a touch of Greek in them, too.

IMO, since we have been to Europe (Prophecies), Asia (Factions) and now Northern Africa (Nightfall), it only makes sense to come to the Americas (North and South).
Northern portion of the map is snow capped, center would be huge cities and southern would be amazonian.

Usually GW chapters have several cultures in them. I think a Greek/Russian/Mongol chapter with open plains and islands would be awesome.

I second the nordic/celt idea. Maybe we can get two handed axes and swords then.
As for the greeks and romans? I think alot of that is in some of the chapters already, as has been said. Plus you also got the armour problem, mesmers in togas, fine. But what else? We already got paragon armour which is more greek/roman than african/middle eastern, and we got glads for warriors too. And weapons? Pilum are already on paragons and gladius is about the most unpopular sword skins you can get. Maybe long spears, but you can make that for a new class without tying it to the greco/roman theme.

Well, you could combine the Charr with a new cultural theme. We really don't know what's up there, after all - for all we know, the Charr could have been driven south from the pressure of something to the north. Which could be a growing human civilisation (which is surely going to suffer some disaster...), or the disaster itself that leads previously-unseen more moderate elements of Charr society to request help from human heroes after the more aggressive Charr have all been killed off during start of Prophecies and the Titan Quests for those people who want Charr characters.

No, actually I would like to see them go into an advanced era in chapter 4, it would be cool to see.

Personally i think they are going to have to take a pretty hefty Left-turn come next round.
It really is going to have to be something WAY out of the ordinary or expected.

My thinking is it will probably either Norse or South America (Aztec/Mian). But something that has not been brought up yet: central/south africa. Entirely diffrent cultures and climates then North Africa.
Possibility?

I'd really like Ch4 to be a Greek Mythology sort of thing. Would be quite interesting.

A lost civilization like Atlantis would be cool! Especially if it could somehow involve some underwater city or sequences. I'm not sure the team is up to the task of developing that though.

Well agree, Greece does have a lot of culture to draw upon, and probably a much more realistic direction. But i still believe there could be something even futher diverse.
I really dig the ATLANTIS idea as well.....
Gives them a certain amount of creative freedom, and the whole idea of a Sub-Aqua Lost City, is pretty damn cool.
