/signed, and that goes for rangers and sins too (all classes that use two-handed weapons suffer from this problem)...

The whole point of the dervish is melee combat with elemental AoE damage and enchantment benifits. They can use wands from other classes, particularly protection magic as it is is their most common secondary which can be well powered by Mystism, but they are not a caster class, they are a mesh of melee combat and Elementist stregths. I cannot see giving Dervish a Wand anymore than giving any casters a legitimate weapon, Dervish can get those wands through combination of other classes just as casters can get bows and spears from other classes, giving them both isn't appropriate and even unbalanced.
And as almost all of Earth and Wind prayers offensive skills involve close proximity, equipping a wand doesn't fit the abilities.

I agree with Baha here. Dervishes are meant to kick butt up close and personal like. Rangers do their thing with traps and lure them in and stand back and take things out. Sins take on things up close and personal and don't relaly need a focus for anything, I can't relaly imagine a sin using a wand unless they want to try gaining attention of something and pull it closer. With Hench and Hero controls though, that isn't neccesary anymore.

Having a lot of skills which are spells is not a compelling reason for a Dervish to get wands and staves. The whole definition of a Dervish being a holy warrior at the frontlines just makes it conceptually illogical.

Dervish and Assassin at their core are weapon fighters. Most of the spells and enchants available to them are made to assisst them in close range attack. Rangers have expertise that decrease the amount of energy they use on skills, etc. Spellcasters like elemental and mesmer have offhands because their spells normally cost more to cast and are cast more frequently.
Its true that warriors have shields as do paragons. But fact is there has never been any recharge mods on shields or weapons for any melee class. I sware asking for offhands simply because you don't like the game mechanics is a little childish.

they can't have offhand items because their scythes, and ranger's bows are 2 handed weapons. And assassins.

that was already stated...here:
"/signed, and that goes for rangers and sins too (all classes that use two-handed weapons suffer from this problem)..." -Hyper Cutter
But thats still not what the OP is getting at...hes asking for wands and offhands that are specific to dervish attributes, while not holding a scythe

No problem, just equip an offhand in addition to your scythe...

You can equip an offhand with a 2 handed weapon, it just gets crossed out, the same way it does when you switch your sword for a hammer with the sheild still equipped.

Once crossed out, you don't get any bonus from it
