Actualy they do need a banking system that could help out with security. Have a seperate NPC (Xunali of course) that is in each town that allows you an unlimited amount of gold in a seperate account from your main storage. RF-Online has this feature and so does WOW (shame on me for saying that dirty word). And in RF Online you have to create password to be able to access your funds. This could work also.
