Yeah, I try to avoid using current builds as much as, because I feel uncomfortable playing them. Does that make me a "noob"?

they only accept ranked people in guilds... the time where you could get easy fame is over, if this person played 10 months ago hed be a r10 just like some of you. But yeah , heroes are a bit extreme, i mean its heroes everywhere, people dont team up in HA, AB, Missions, no where, it took the online gaming thing out, only thing thats left is GvG

Why not let people in with their Heros? This is a game designed to have fun. Playing in HA can be fun but it is impossible to get a group if you do not have fame. It is also impossible to get into a guild that plays HA unless you have fame.

I can understand both sides of this argument. On one hand, heroes make it a lot easier for players to try things out and a lot easier for newbies to get into the game. It also provides more variety to allow playing with your hero team in more gametypes. On the other hand, the complaint that those who want to PvP are sometimes now mostly fighting AI is legitimate (although their skills/equipment were still set by a human...)
Personally, I wouldn't care about HA if they'd let my heroes into TA. I want to play some straight up annihilation with them and HA is currently the only way to do that.

Pfft, yea, lets kick out all these noobs with their heros. While were at it, no one lower than r3 should be allowed either. That way HA can be entirely the realm of all us 1337 players and we wont even have to bother clicking the button to kick the noobs who want to learn how to play!
Seriously folks, as someone who has tried many times to play in HA, and who has been continually kicked out of groups because I'm not ranked, or have the wrong skills, I just want to say that you are overreacting.
I'm not saying its everyone who plays HA, but the vast majority of people do not accept new players. Not only do they discriminate, by they arent even nice about it. You get kicked out with a PM like "OMFG noob stop wasting our time".

Not every guild wants to HA. My guild is mostly PvE players, and getting a HA group out of them is nigh-impossible. And before anyone says "Well you need to find a new guild then." No. I dont need to find a new guild. I like my guild and have no desire to get a new one. I have no problem playing TA or AB with PUGs, why does HA have to be so exclusive?
Heros are an answer to the problem. My heros won't call me a noob for joining their group. They dont ragequit when we lose. I can take them into HA, see what beats them, and then modify their build to make them better. Heros will never be as good as real players, so I fail to see how this is a threat to the older players (most of the responses seem to be along the lines of "because it is!").
In short, maybe if everyone in HA wasnt so elitest then there wouldnt be a need for heros. As it is, it takes an act of congress for a new player to learn the mysterious ways of HA (guildwiki helps, but its not the same as actually learning from a group), so heros and henches are needed just for new players to have a chance to play.
Sorry for the rant, this is a pet peeve of mine.

I feel your pain trust me, I started out unranked too, and I had to learn and earn my rank 5. It took time because my guild has 3 people that are active and they are all local friends so joining an HA guild was not an option. Every ranked player out there had to start at Rank 0 and once you get into a groove you will earn fame at a reasonable rate.
That being said, all the ranked players HATE to see HA turn into a PVE fest, it does several things, 1 it forces Heroway Vs Heroway on the first 3 maps and guess what, one of those teams has to win and they win FAME for that which I think is silly. It was very difficult for me to earn my rank 3 and I just think that these players are missing what PVP is all about, and that is CHALLENGE.
HA isnt necessarily dying, its just changing into PVE, ANET PLEASE put a stop to this, its not fun anymore.

I agree with all the previous "notsigned" people. Maybe just remove henchmen from HA, so that nobody can (in theory) solo HA.

The big problem I have with the Heros in HA is that by using their "use X skill" command on the interface you can easily coordinate big spikes with 0 team skill.
It's pretty much "Punch Button X: Player Y Dies"
Had a team in HA got dropped 1,2,3,4,5... by the stupid hero spike.
It was 2 people and the rest Heros, IIRC.
Not to mention the fact that some of the heros don't appear to follow the normal rules for their class...there's some centaur thing that seems to be a R/Mo or something - but it's armor is probably closer to W, if not over.
Not sure if that's true - or just my hate-skewed perception.
But seriously PvP != PvE. Get the frikking mobs out of my arena.

Will be nice to play HA now, rather than wait an hour in the lobby not getting in a group because I'm not R6+ or some other nonsense.

It's called Player vs Player, if you want to play with Heroes go to the Hero Arena.

I dont want heroes removed - they play a lot better then some of those players HA. Im not denying that fighting 5 NPC's is starting to take its toll - however ruining it for the people who only use heroes and henchmen to subsitute people is not the way to answer this.
Besides, a team full of NPC's usually wont make it past relic maps...

And Llint, get lost, how about keeping HA fun? How about rewarding originality? How about losing because other players have skills, or winning because you have skills, instead of the AI, wasn't that the whole purpose of this game? Skill wins?
Oh and no this is not coming from a r12, top 50 guild player, but from a r1 player, with only a modest, inactive guild.
Yes there is rank elitism. So what? Be patient for a nice cookie cutter PUG, play long enough, become good, and eventually you will hit r3, after which things will speed up.
r3=180 fame, so that's a maximum of 180 wins. Even if you win once every half an hour, it takes you 90 hours to become rank 3.
Most players have played guild wars at least 500+ hours, and are still not great at PvE, so why should you be great at PvP in under 20 hours or so?

There's no keyboard shortcut to hero skills, is there? (correct me if I'm wrong)
So you have to manually select a target and click each hero's spike skill (and most likely a follow up) and your skill as well? How long does that take you? I bet at least two seconds. A hero on the other team with Infuse or even WoH on his bar = GG your slow spike.
I found that heroes are better at simply exerting pressure or shutdown - you can lock a choker or a migraner on a target and have the same effect as a real player shutting down a target, basically.
