The dervish hood
I still have not had the chanse to play as dervish but from what i have heard, the hood is designed to look like a part of the armour. That made me think that it'll look stupid when you remove it completly, as you would have to destroy your armour to do that in real..
So, if it does look like it is a part of the armour, my idea was to make a third option for the hoods, apart from hide and show. That option should be like, remove your hood (not taking it completely off, only remove it from your head, still having it behind your neck)
But that's probobly a stupid idea..

I have a dervish, with a 15k hood, and I think it looks fine both on and off, it doesn't detract from the armor at all.

Well I think it's about the physical sense of the robe-hood, not the appearance. Most of the derv outfits look fine without the hood showing. But, what Bark is saying is rather than have the hood completely disappear, have it in the folded(?) position on your neck. You can now see your shiny scalp, but you can still see your hood.

Yeah I would much prefer the shoulders of my hood being visible (otherwise the armour looks bare), but with the hood down.

Islam teaches to dress modestly and with humility and shyness for both men and women. This is often interpreted different ways by many islamic cultures.
The dervish in Guild Wars seem to represent a vague abstraction of this idea.
Regardless....keep your hood on. Hijabi love baby~ ^_^

It'll probably be added at the same time rangers get their quivers... still, wonderful idea(s)... both quivers and folded down hoods.

as per ANet (and guildwiki where I found the following quote)
Quote:
The Dervish armor will consist of robes, which include bracers for the hands and hoods which symbolize their humility to the gods.

Oh, I forgot about the quiver idea. Would love to see both those in play someday.

A /hood command would be nice.
DAoC has that command, the hood would fold back onto your shoulders. Bear in mind that nearly every class could wear hoods, so this would be a dervish only effort.

Only thing I am not completely happy with is the swishy-swish of the Dervish...err, dress when he walks. Yeah, it's highly realistic if you compare it to real world dervishes....but I always thought they looked kinda funny too. But, does it have to move so much?
I mean aren't there heavy blades in the hem of it?
Of course, like the Scotsman in a kilt, no one better make fun of him.

I'm not one for using headgear but this idea gives me incentive to blow 15k on a piece of cloth on my head........

Since this is a minor aesthetic upgrade, a.net will implement this rather than rebalance skills. Why? How many times has the UI been updated? How many times has the skill Ether Lord been balanced(specifically buffed)? There you go.
If you're not sure, the UI changes about every 3rd update. Font style/sharpening and color changes are present each time.
