Make the pet tigers bigger
First, I must say that I love Guild Wars. It's such a well crafted game and I have spent A LOT of my time playing it recently..
But there is one thing that bugs me...
The Tigers are too small...:/
I know I'm new to this board and this is a pretty odd suggestion but you'd expect the tigers to be much larger than they currently are. I don't know if this is the same with all factions pets but I've noticed that the pet tigers are pretty small and don't seem to grow any like the pets found in prophecies.
Yes, it's probably nitpicking but I thought I would just suggest this because if there's always one thing you'll notice about real tigers is that they are BIG animals. Definately not an animal comparable in size to your neighbours dog.
Obviously, they shouldn't be the size of the bears but you'd expect them to be larger than the stalkers, surely...
OKay...that's my humble suggestion thanks

I could come up with a nerdy answer about why they're so small, but i don't do things like that.
Your right, they do look kind of small.........

You guys do know that pets increase in size as you level them up, right?
If you have a level 20 tiger, and think its too small, then I guess this thread is valid for discussion.
Personally, I like the spider.

Yes, I know that the Prophecies pets grow but the Factions tigers don't seem to.
I think I've heard that none of the Factions pets grow?

Thread necromancy...
Since we have seen that Elonian pets grow, and Tyrian pets grow, why is it that Canthan ones don't. The tiger in particular is even on the same model as the Melandru Stalker, the Lynx, the Lioness and the Lion - all of which grow.
Perhaps, though it's minor, the pets could be updated?

Tigers are the second biggest ground carnivore after the Polar bear.
Tigers should grow, definitely.

It says on guildwiki that the factions pets don't grow, for some reason. It's kind of funny; when b/p farming in the tombs, every other ranger will have a tiger or phoenix, or even a black moa, and I have a level 20 strider, HUGE in comparison...it could eat one of those tiny tigers...

There is no reason why Faction pets aren't growing bigger! I don't know much about 3D graphic and programming... but making them bigger is just a scaling problem right? Shouldn't be too hard to do I assume. Besides, such system is already implemented with the other pets... so whatever code needed to make this work exists already.

Its not just a scaling problem. Bigger tiger meansa bigger model, which means a bigger texture(skin) for the model, which means more work for server. Not much for one, but you have to multiply it by EVERY tiger in-game, those in the wild, those that are already tamed, in every single instanced area. Even if noone has a tiger, if theres 10 in an area, multiply that by how many areas are in use. Not saying it will cause rampant lag, but it would be better to leave them as-is Id think, unless tigers can be recoded so that a larger one will take up an equal or very slightly larger amount of bandwidth.

Not at all!
THe 3D layout is client sided. Server do not create the image, they send the data so your computer makes the landscape and creatures. Scalling is client sided! A lvl 3 flesh golem has the same model and the same texture as a lvl 29 one, but the higher level one is bigger. The client will resize the model and adjust the texture! It's a single simple DirectX feature.
You receive the tiger skin and model once. THen your Pc will deal with it.
If every single creature with different sizes had it's own unique model and texture, the game would have that for each single level of each single creature type and their bosses! That's insanely ridiculous!
What about all the other creatures? Nightfall creatures grow too.
Resizin a model is really easy. They just din't add that feature to some animals, mostly in Cantha.
Maybe Factions was made by other team and they forgot to make pets resizeable by level.
