Primevil Elemental armor needs something!!!! anything!!! some pattern to it?
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Element...Primeval_Armor
The above link shows the Primevil Elementalist armor.
Its not exactly the nicest armor in the game. I might actually go as far as to say its the worst.
But being a proud Elemental, who wants all the end game armor and has the last 2 previous ones, I had to have it.
The reason I go for end-game armor is that (for a short time), you see very few people wearing them. In 3 months, ive only seen one other person wearing it. So atleast I look distinctive.
But I have this thing about dying all my armor black.
I've done that with the majority of my primevil armor, and it looks *wobbles hand* ok!
But unless you look very very very close, and your in very bright light. You cant see any textural patterns or styles to the main section.
The reason is because when you dye it, the colour is very striking and bold because the dyeable areas is 90% of the armor.
I could try white, but considering im 3/4 the way into black armor, I dont want to start again.
We need more texture and pattern to the main body of the armor, to make it look less IN-YOUR-FACE, and give it depth and sexyness.
But you cant help but feel a bit let down by Anet's attempts at the armor.
Its like they ran out of ideas, and thought theyd just use any old armor model they could and then put a corset around.
The female one looks pretty cool though, because the design is well suited for a women.
But isnt the idea to have the female and male versions look different? Not just stick the male elemental in exactly the same thing like a drag queen.
Improve the armor somehow. It just needs more texture and pattern to it. Something to make it look like effort was actually applied to it.
If you compare this armor to the 5k and 10k you can get, then the primevil is laughable.
The 5k and 10k have this very nice Big Collar, long coat theme going. It looks great. So why didnt they continue this theme into the primevil instead of going with a dress?
Perhaps to make it look evil - but honestly? A guy in drag is not evil. Its scarey and slightly nerv-racking, but its not evil.
Ive actually had most people who see me in it make a non-hetro comment. Not something which bothers me. But when your walking around a major city, wearing armor which costs alot of time and gold, you'd rather have people say "nice armor, thats different" instead of "wow thats so g..."!
Please Anet add something to it.

Strange as it is.. I like the primeval elem armor it is special, not many people wear it, and it looks like it would sting if you get to close (and I as an Ele don't like people rushing in at me, at least these stings should keep them occupied for a few secs )

Its not that I dont like it.. despite me saying its the worst armor yet.
I like different, distinct armor.
But it has no pattern or texture to it, and the striking similarities between the male and female is just disturbing.
Plus if you have a char with very white skin.... its not good with this armor.
If you notice on guildwiki the char has darker skin, thats why it looks better.

It does look like the character wearing it has been in a serious accident with an umbrella and some bamboo. It isn't very 'elemental' nor is it ornate or have any interesting features. 15k sunspear seems to outshine it if you pardon the pun.

Well, it probably is designed for Elonians, if not a modification of a design originally for Forgotten...
I noticed the same with Paragons in the preview weekend - if the skintone chosen isn't dark enough, that combined with the white armour just leaves the character as a whole looking anaemic.

I think even a man-snake or a ghost would be thinking...
"Theres no way im setting foot outside this cave, in this dress. For god sake, can you not make me some macho looking clothes women? The guys down at the ascension trials are going to laugh at me!!!!"
...if he had to dress in drag.
It wouldnt be so bad if I was able to change my hair and get an emo thing going. But as you can see in the icon, that hair doesnt exactly stop the non-hetro comments when im wearing a dress.

I don't think the armors were designed for the Forgotten, after all Lord Victo was a primeval king and he, along with all the others within the new Tombs are assumed to be human.
I primeval sets intended to look...primeval.
of or relating to the earliest ages (as of the world or human history) – ancient, primitive
I think all of the sets fit this concept rather well.

See.. I dunno. If you look at other primeval armor.
Their not sticks and fabric like the elemental one is.

Ive seen it. Its gorgeous compared to ele. The monk one has patterns and textures and variations in colour to it.
The elemental is just blank, and plain and 2 colours.
