They REFUSE to drop offensive Item Spells, and I haven't tried the defensive ones. I shudder to think how they'll manage with it.
They don't really understand the importance of meeting the conditional requirements on spells, and cast them at reduced efficiency freely, especially nasty when some of them are supposed to help manage energy. (Soothing Memories and Essence Strike, for example)
And oh the hilarity if people remember when having 2 ritualist heroes = back and forth Spirit Light-ing, if that still happens. (Haven't tested that.)
Weapon Spells are as troublesome as most proactive enchantments tend to be, because they can't make judgments/predictions about the future as humans can. Instead, they just throw them around kind of wildly.
But meh, players aren't idiots; If a hero can't handle a build, most people will try something else, until they can find something that works. If even just one hero Ritualist build works effectively, then it's more options, and more options are always nice.
So /signed.

Well, appearently this wasn't a problem, cause good ol' raz is our rit... That being said, is this thread the reason that A-net made Raz a rit instead of a variable hero. If so... I don't want it. Make Raz a variable again.

I think its pretty obvious they made him a ritualist because it was the only profession they hadnt used yet.
Had they not added a Rit, people would have complained constantly.
Plus had they not made it a perminant profession instead of a variable one, then you wouldnt be able to have ritualist Hero armor, which people would have wanted.
Thats why they added him.

Even though A-net has given us Razah, I still see reason to sign this thread. As of right now, I don't have a ritualist, nor will I until one of my characters finishes Nightfall. In a sense, although we've been given our ritualist, very few of us have actually gotten our ritualist, nor will be able to get our ritualist anytime soon. Besides, even after getting Razah, he'll be similar to the NPC's like Alora and Quayle available in the latter part of Baldur's Gate (the original): perhaps somewhat useful, but a little too late.
I would kind of like to see a ritualist available in Cantha, but I get the feeling that won't happen. I think a-net didn't put one there because they didn't want people without Nightfall to have access to more than two heroes (a ritualist would have made a full party, not to mention a balanced one...Olias = caster, Zenmai = fighter, ritualist = healer).
I'm also guessing that they didn't put the ritualist in the normal Nightfall storyline because they wanted to restrict the rit to factions. It's throughly possible that that's not the reason though, because that idea doesn't make complete sense; Factions ritualist skills wouldn't have available to people without Factions, only skills from Nightfall. In a way, a ritualist in Nightfall would have acted somewhat like Olias and Zenmai do in the other campaigns, as advertisements or teasers, of a sort, for the other campaign.
So yeah, /signed for them adding another ritualist somewhere amidst the Nightfall campaign. That's the most reasonable place I can think of.
