Spamming, suggested fix.
Due to the influx of new people who decide it's fun to spam chat with their sales, or just over repetative and redundant lol and omg lines, I've decided to propose a fix.
Institute punishments of muting. If You get placed on a set number of peoples ignore lists(20-30?) you're placed on mute for X# of days, and are removed from all ignore lists.
Every time you get muted, it grows by 1 day.
When muted, you can only talk to guild members and to people that have you on their friends list.(Jon is muted. I have jon on my friends list, so he can talk to me, not because I am on his list though.)
I find an ignore list maximum of ten extremely way too low, which is what caused me to become agitated. Pre-searing is filling up with title seekers, and people who will make a new charcter for no other purpose than socializing(or lol'ing people to death), and tends to scroll faster than than the Lions Arch district 1 chat window at times.
Guild recruiters alone have become more than gathers, and have risen to the point of accosting people relentlessly, resorting to verbal abuse. The same problem arises when one tries to state the current going rates so that some new player does not get tricked out of valuable items such as black dye, or buy belt pouches for 200gold or more!
If people suffer through a week or more of not being able to sell goods, on account of verbal abuse or gereral spamming, I firmly believe a majority will modify their chat behavior.
On the side, I suggest adding a dye trader to pre-searing, which will eliminate the constant bickering/lying about what dye is worth. This hardly happens post searing because of the dye traders. If someone even attempts selling or buying dye at a dishonest price, he's publicly flayed on the spot.
I suppose that sums up my suggestions and reasons.
Please give this honest consideration.
*Below suggestions noted, but consider when you need to sell or buy something, you have to read to be able to buy, you can't do that when you're ignoring chat or when the scroll goes so fast it gets difficult to read.
