Default Commanding pets

I was out on my ranger, when I gave the hench the order to stick behind me at the same point. I wanted to lure the group with my bow because if I came to close I would aggro the other group. I shot an arrow but my pet doesn't listen to the order and aggro's both groups.

Btw I still made it but it's annoying, because like 4 henchies died.

Can there come an order for pets to?

If they give us the ability to order pets, minions will need it too. I would love for my Tombs runs not to go crazy from my minions wandering towards aggro. At least your pet listens to your target.

I had hoped for this when I heard about hero and henchmen control.

This has been sugested before, and it was decided that it was a bad idea.

If you gain more control over your pet, it becomes more usefull. If it becomes easier to use, then those pet attacks that deal 30+ damage will need to be "nerfed" so that your pet isn't overpowering to others.

Also, if you aren't running a beastmaster, don't bring a pet. If you are running a beast master build, use Koss or some other hero to pull.

Personally, I'm for the idea since it helps to bring more depth into gameplay in terms of using a pet.

Personally I'd like this as a BM, but one of Anet's reasons not to make pet/minion control was A) Haven't gotten around to it yet , and another B ) Pets and minions are 'stupider' and cannot listen to commands like heros and 'people' can. You charmed the beast to ally to you and attack what you do, but beyond that pets are still dumb animals. It makes sense to me, but I'd like to see pet controls somewhat. My friend's dog can stay...

I have a ranger and a pet, Fluffy. I love builds that can use her (as something besides a corpse factory.) So this isn't about ranger hate, but ...

That level of control over a pet seems too unbalanced to me. Pets don't decrease your drops/gold/experience the way more controllable heroes and henchies do. To have the same control of pets makes the beastmaster overpowered in too many situations, imo.

PErsonally, I agree and disagree. Players should not be able to completely control the pet. Maybe there could be a sort of pet command bar, with the same settings as heros, like "Attack", "Defend", and "Avoid Combat"

I just want to be able to send my pet back or to go to a certain spot and stay.

All it needs is one more flag for the player's pet.

Allow necros one flag for all the minions currently controlled as well.

I think pets drastically need a boost and this seems like a logical one.
As to the comments that they'r not 'smart enough', maybe then instead of a command such as we have with the hench and heroes, we could instead have a 'stay' where they remain where they are untill told to 'come'. If they cannot do this but are able to attack with the skills we tell them to then there is surely something wrong.

I think they should add a heel command for pets, as an everlovin beastmaster myself, the thing I hate most is in AB when pets run through the enemy gates and gets killed by the defender, and then gets killed again if you res it (the only way to get your pet back is to kill yourself). Or atleast make it so you can res your pet after that situation.
