Guild Public Information (GPI)
I did not find anything in search for this so im going to go ahead and put it out there. Some people exagerate about there guild, maybe they have 30 people in thier guild but they tell people 50....or they say they have more factions than they have, and so on and so on. It would be cool to have a system that looks up a guilds name and tag that allows you to look at the guilkds history. How many members/officers there are, Check out a preview of the guild hall and what they have in it (merchants ,storage, and so on).Can also see leader, and officers names to get in touch with if you need to.
The alliance window can also be acessed to for information on what the guilds alliance is like. You can not visit the alliance for information unless you type them into the system. There can also be a list to where you can add your name to if you are interested in joining the guild, the cape will also be avalible to look at.The last but not least......GvG status....to give info on how your guild is with GvG.
I would like this system because it would bring more people into wanting to find a guild. This GPI would help guilds grow fast and make people more comfortable before they join a guild, also bring of some stress from reading all chat spams.
What do you think? Would this cause any problems at all? Would this not work at all, and make things better for guilds? opinions please!!!
note: this system has a ABC list of all guilds. also a search button witch the information above allows you to do so.
there is also an option only for officers and leader to put your name on the GPI or not members will not be allowed to because they have no choice. This is because like i said up above they will not be included in the information expet counting as a number.

Most of the guilds have websites/forums for this information.
And yes it could be inflated/exagerrated, but since you're not paying to join, you could always leave and let them know that you are leaving for misleading you with false information.

Actually, not a terrible idea.
GW's servers would have the most up-to-date information on roster, # members, rank, guild hall, faction earned, etc, whereas I assume most guilds do not update their forum or website daily.
It could just be the [Guild Registrar] you talk to, a separate tab where you enter the guild name and/or tag. (If you type in a tag, the guilds pop up with that tag, you double-click to see.) A small screen appears with guild leader's name/last login, number of members, a picture of the cape, faction, and rank.
I know I for one wouldn't care if everyone and their brother had access to this extremely basic information.
Since I've never had to change guilds before, I do not know the pain-in-the-buttness aspect of guild searching/hopping. If it makes it just a little easier for people (and not too difficult for ANet) then why not.

Well... maybe most Guilds have own sites... but how do you set them? You have to ask directly to a member of the Guild. And most of that sites are forum to particular use of the guild.
A way to link a page to your guild so other can see the link without directly having to talk to any member could save a lot of time to many guild members.

City Of Heroes/Villains has one and it allows you to find out the information there on the spot instead of combing through forums.
However with the stinginess of ANET and its database space, It might be difficult to persuade them to add it.

I won't sign it yet as I see this feature more feasible if ANet ever implements a 'Guild Recruitment' feature in-game and shouldn't stand alone. Nevertheless, it's still a good idea.

Unless you mean when they invite you as a guest or as a potential member to the Guild. Otherwise I don't want people looking up my Guild and being able to see everything about it. Sometimes I have people who want to join from other guilds but don't want the leader of the old guild to know they joined mine. They would know because other people have left from their guild in the past to join mine.
Situations like that can be kind of annoying and its probably easier to just have that info when your a guest or have an invite anyway instead of creating this complicated system.
Just my opinion.

I like this idea very much, you can also add some more information like alliance and the guild website (must be provided by the guild leader somewhere, but there could be a problem with dummy advertising guild), a small description of the guild (again provided by the guild leader). Theses informations can be seen in game and on the official website.

Too many guilds advertise and most of them are so bad that no reason to join. When is able to check information directly in-game it make choosing guild much easier.

I'd posted similar idea some time ago, but it was ignored and forgotten about it
HTML Code:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10038386
I was looking for guild for some time and all those spam messages are always the same, this idea might help new and/or older experienced players in finding guild.
