Petition: Wintersday in Cantha
Ok, I am not sure what the internal workings in ANet is, but I feel left out as someone who bought Factions, that neither holidays were held in Cantha. What gives?
So here I start a petition to either:
(a) spread all holiday celebrations to all continents,
(b) move all holiday celebrations to a common area, or
(c) have each continent have their own celebration, such that everyone can participate, but those who have more games get to choose between more events.
I don't personally care which option they pick, but if it can be done this Wintersday, then great. It won't matter to me next year as Santa is bringing me GW:GOTY and GW:Nightfall this Xmas (or I will buy them myself), but I still think that you shouldn't have to buy a specific title to get to enjoy special events (excluding things like Domain of Anguish).
Let's get the petition rolling!

Just imagine a couple more expansions down the road, it will take a lot of time and work for them to update servers/create temp quests/decorate towns for each expansion.
Most events happen in the newest chapter. Halloween and Wintersday are happening in Ch1 because they started there.
I'm sure next year Elona wont be getting any Halloween or Wintersday.
Anet also does this so they attract more people to the newest chapters all the time.

Tyria didn't get the Day of the Tengu or the Dragon Festival, but it makes sense... Likewise with Cantha and Halloween/Wintersday.

/not signed,
it was fully explained that Wintersday is a Tyrian holiday and that its only in kamadan due to the sudden flock of people traveling there.(ie its the newest addition)
Cantha had the dragon festival and the day of the tengu. Tyria didnt get either of those did they?
its just like the real world, different cultures have different holidays, like xmas and chinese new year, not every one in the world celebrates the same holidays do they.

The biggest fact is that the tyrians initially came from elona, they migrated there along time ago, so of course they have the same holidays, cantha on the other hand has a completely different set. It's like the US and Canada having Christmas and Easter just like much of europe because most of the settlers immigrated from there. But Asia doesn't have them, even their New Years celebration is on a different day.

Without reading your post, here's what I have to say.
Heightmap and texturing a giant area like Kaineng or Shing Jea takes a long time for a full team of programmers, modelers, and texturers. The GW team probably took a few weeks designing and building Kamadan. With wintersday coming out in a few hours, there is no way they could add Wintersday to Cantha.
