I don't like idea of Gw 2... Obviously AN would put much more effort in Gw 2 and leave Gw 1 as it is... and we wouldn't want that now, would we?
Just... let's wait and see what will happen to WoW when Blizz will finally make Diablo 3...

I really don't care as long as they leave the pvp system more or less intact.
Why would they even make a GW2?
New content? Expantion packs ftw.
Graphical updates/new engine? Is done constantly in updates.
If there's gonna be a GW2 it's gonna be a long time.

If you buy all the campaigns as they come out, it's equal to if I recall correctly, 8.99/mo.
If there was a GW2, I wouldn't play it unless it was more... rewarding. The fact my character has stayed the same power from ascension at Prophecies to the end of Nightfall is just lame to me. That seems to be GW's weak point, but you can't really have a completely 'balanced' PvP with tons of better armors and spells.
However, I have no problem being destroyed by someone with FoW armor simply because he has it. That's hard to get and he should be, as a veteran, rewarded.
So, unless GW2 was instanced and rewarded you like normal games (level 20 is a bit low too... really, level 30 even with the same attributes and everything, but facing more challenging monsters, would own) then I would definitely not be playing it.

But those games didn't have nextgen graphics. GW does. If they wanted to change the game mechanics, they'd do it in an update, like they've always done. There is little to no reason to make a completely new Guild Wars. I mean, how would you improve anything in GW that they couldn't do with an update?
"sequel" means "next in sequence," which is why Factions is GW2.

Not everyone with fow earned it. Ever heard of ebay? I don't know the exact statistics, but I'd guess 10-25% of pve'ers ebayed their fow armor supplies and gold.
I do agree that GW gets lame after you play it for a long time. It's a pvp based game. If you want to grind your way to godly level 100 and obtain godly armor, play WoW or a korean MMO.

I would make it optional. Sometimes I would prefer the WoW style of game play, but others - aka farming, I would like my own little world with my own little bad guys to kill.
But then you will have to look at the server sizes and such, so it may just be more hassle than its worth. I know I would quit GW if they made it a monthly fee, as I enjoy the freedom to play as much as I want and whenever I want.
