Alright I freely admit that this name is from Wheel of Time, but given my idea for the class, I couldnt really think of a cooler name. The theory is that this class is similar to a warrior, in that they wear metal armor, but only have a 70 armor level. The armor isnt thick and broad like a warrior, but light and strong, allowing for ease of movement and decent protection.
Attributes would be thus:
Dexterity (primary)
Blade Mastery
Focus
Defense
Dexterity: For each rank, or every few ranks, you attack 2% faster and have an inherent 1% speed increase
Blade Mastery: For each rank your attack power while using a blade (two handed swords) increases. Skills with the attribute of Blade Mastery increase in power with greater numbers in this attribute.
Focus: Similar to warrior stances...i.e. you block incoming attacks, your attacks cannot be evaded, interrupted, etc.
Defense: Similar to tactics...prevents critical strikes, conditions, etc.
This is really the bare sketch of my idea because I don't have it fully developed and I figure even a fully complete idea would get modded on here, so might as well let you guys fill in some of the blanks. Basically my idea is this guy can parry and block with his sword, thus negating the need for a shield. Maybe something along the lines of a Samurai-style of fighting. Maybe even Jedi-style lightsaber moves :P My intention for this is not just to be like "ANet throw in 2 handed weapons" but to give them a reason to.

Warriors already use a two-handed size sword in on hand. Making a two-handed broadsword wielder that is basicly a trip away from Warrior isn't really a good idea, A Samurai would be much better.
In terms of visual comparison, if you look at a warrior who is strong enough to wield a massive sword in one hand and the heaviest armor, than instead take away armor and take away the shield forcing this class to use both of his hands on a large sword, you paint a picture of weakness. With a Samurai, the weapon is significantly lighter, and the use of the weapon is much more unique, casting aside comparisons to "Berserking". The class would use medium armor and a light weapon intentionally to execute different combat styles.
Another thing to recognize is that the armor for a melee class does not need to be 70. 70 is a minimum for melee, see Assassin. Warrior has 80+20 physical, Paragon even has 80. A medium melee class should have 80 armor, lack of 20 additional armor vs physical is already very significant.
Personally, I think if you tolk some time to draw from alot of the work already done you wouldn't be at such a premature stage. Perhaps if you had read some of the balanced ideas presented you would already be satisfied.

the inherent ias boost general IDEA isn't overpowered... but 2x16=32 which would probably get rounded to 33%. That's way too high, maybe like a 0.7% increase per rank, or less.

hmmm interesting. This concepted entry has more than enough discription to be made worthy. If this profession/Class allows swords in both hands. Oh lets say like a barbarian or Blade Alcolyte. I would give you 2 thumbs up.
6/10 for original Concept. (need skills and weapon designs)
