New Plus/Minus title for each type of team combat
The current rank system only shows that time has been spent playing the game - a 1% success rate can reach rank 9 just like someone who gets rank 9 by winning 100% of the time. It just takes ALOT longer
Why not use a constantly changing plus/minus stat to create new titles for each type of team battle (Hall, Team Arena, GvG, AB, and whatever comes along later).
The plus/minus stat would be simlar to hockey, but instead of goals it would be battles won or lost. Wiki link for definition of plus/minushttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plus/minus
Perhaps it could be reset each quarter/year.
When someone is on a team that wins the battle they get +1. When someone is on a team that loses they get -1. If you drop for whatever reason - the person that drops gets -2. Bonus Point to a victor for every man down they are: If someone drops on one team in team arena remaining team members of the 3 man team will get +1 if they beat the other 4 man team.
Sample titles for Team Arena (could be changed for each type of battle):
-10 = Unlucky Skirmisher
0 = Noob Skirmisher
10 = Skirmisher
25 = Fierce Skirmisher
50 = Mighty Skirmisher
100 = Deadly Skirmisher
175 = Terrifying Skirmisher
275 = Conquering Skirmisher
400 = Subjugating Skirmisher
550 = Vanquishing Skirmisher Numbers are lower than normal - keep in mind, in this title system you can get NEGATIVE points.
Could be really tough to get a good title for plus/minus in random arena, but if you did - you would deserve it.
note - Ladders could be created for each type of team combat to show individual performance.

Seems good, but in the end people will farm the plus/minus points too...
Think about it, a ranked player will most likely have a higher-than-50% win-loss ratio, which means they'll get more of the plus points than minus points if they play. In this system, a person who has 500 wins and 300 losses will have 200 "points" and a person who has 150 wins and 10 losses will only have 140 "points." (The fact that uAx is top 30 with 48 losses and 117 wins and QQ isn't even in top 50 despite going 43-0 reminded me of this) Unless you want to implement a win-loss ratio in addition to the point system, which will get insanely complicated
And in random arenas, it's not too hard. On average, I have about a 5 win to 1 loss ratio, and that's usually with testing out new builds and whatnot too...
Overall, good idea and much better than now, but still leaves much to be desired to improve on.

As stated, this system still leaves time as a factor.
Example:
Player A plays 1000 games @ a 75% win ratio. That nets him 750 Skirmisher points and a nice title.
Player B plays 100 games @ 90% win ratio. That nets him 90 skirmisher points and a low title.
It is now proven that time is a limiting factor.
I propose a simple win ratio title. Time is still a limiting factor, until you start losing.

Thanks for the replies...
What about having the ratio between positive and negative points be different for each arena? 1 point for a win in every arena and a range of points (-1 to -10 - quitters subtract 1 more) to be subtracted per loss (depending on the arena and population).
The ratio of negative points would change based on the entire rated population. If too many of the population are in the upper percentile of the ranking chart you subtract more for each loss until the rank tables meet the desired populations. The following table would not count the bottom two titles in the "good" population
not counted= Unlucky Skirmisher
not counted = Noob Skirmisher
49.5% = Skirmisher
25% = Fierce Skirmisher
12.5%= Mighty Skirmisher
6.25% = Deadly Skirmisher
3.125% = Terrifying Skirmisher
1.625% = Conquering Skirmisher
1.5% = Subjugating Skirmisher
0.5% = Vanquishing Skirmisher
To prevent the "gain a title and never play again" strategy, there would be a subtraction of half the points for the current loss each day.
