Bad idea, too many events at that point. Where are you going to store all that extra stuff? We don't need a 'Hallmark Holiday' event.

Hallmark officially endorses the Halloween event for GW. Buy this card for your friend only $5 real money. Just go to the Card Merchant and type in you credit card number...choose a card to buy and *WHAM!* the other player is crushed by this giant card no matter where they are. Knocks them to the ground, and for 15 seconds they can't do anything because they are in love.

Lovers' Complex Quest
Lovers' Complex Quest
A intertwine mix of series of event and quests with outcome that affect one another.
Here would be an example of the cast:
John: A former soldier of Ascalon and husband to Marry. On a mission, die while trying to protect Lela from a Charr Invasion. Now a roaming spirit, unwilling to pass on because of his concern for Marry.
Fernado: Twin Brother of John. Also a soldier that is now assigned as body guard to Lady Zanxi. Also he is helping taking care of Marry, widow of his late brother. While he secretly like Lela, but is torn by how she think he is another man (John). Also is being pursued by Lady Zanxi (who he dislike).
Grimth: A handsome man born of Nobility, however he is curse by the Mad King, and is transformed into a hideous creature by day, and only a man under full moon. When he was in the creature form, he was hunted down like a monster, but Marry took him in and tended his wound. By this act, he was ever grateful to her, and harbor a love toward her.
Marry: Widow, who still mourns for the lost of her late beloved husband, John. She is unsure what to do, to let go, or to pursued a new life. Helped Grimtih before (but she does not know his true identity). Like a older sister to Lela.
Lady Zanxi: A Women of Nobility from Canthra who is on a trade mission to Ascalon. She always gets what she wants, but also have a lonely side because of her position. She now had her eyes set on Fernado, her assigned bodyguard. Also, she is engaged to Sir. Grimth to Noble.
Lela: A simple village girl that John saved before, and feel affection to him because of that. However, she did not know John die in the process ( she was knock out) and now holds a secret crush to Fernado (who she think is John).
the combo choice would include:
John-Marry, (John-Lela), [John-Lady Zanxi]
Fernado-Lady Zanxi, (Fernado-Lela), [Fernado-Marry]
Grimth-Marry, (Grimth-Lady Zanxi), [Grimth-Lela]
() mean harder to get, [] mean more secret to get (with some requirement conditions), unbrakett mean easie to get.
There are several quests that each person have, which depend on what you complete, will lead to different outcome, as well as opening or closing selection of other quest. (most quest just involve getting some item, fedex between person, and making choice on what advice or word to tell them)
-Breaking Curses, passing love letters, find item that let spirt cross the world, burning other's love letter and spreading rumors, etc etc... Don't think I need to spell out all the quest and how they are interconnected and what you must do, but I am sure you can think of some.
Example of John’s quest. You might A) help him unit him with Marry (where Marry will join him to the spirit world), or B) Persuade Marry to look forward of her own life, to let go of the memory of him, or even C) Unit John and Lela together.
So if you pick A, it will also close the possibility of the quest of uniting Grimth and Marry or even Fernado and Marry together. (which is possible with B or C) Thus this will change the whole dynamic of the quest. A Complex Quest system. (And yes, the story is a GW Soap)

Rings so that the only current ring in the game isn't the Silver Ring from the belated betrothal quest. Skill charm rings have been gone for a while, so there aren't too many options for in-game RP weddings (though I have no such plans for one for myself)
Consentual valentine's day card exchanges, with short custom messages.
Write a card with disgusting spam inside? Well, unless someone either knows you or is very naive, they're not going to accept it from you. I should hope people wouldn't accept such tokens of friendship from complete strangers, anyway.
Other small tokens would be nice as well. I love collecting holiday junk.

Evidently my search button is not working properly. I also made a suggestion for a Valentine's Day event and started the new thread. My bad.
Anyhow, I was thinking that we connect the event to the Goddess Lyssa as she is the Goddess of Beauty and I would assume Love. I thought maybe they'd call the event Lyssa's Day or some such connotation on the word love or beauty.

Please god no. It's a worthless enough holiday in real life, let alone in game. Frankly events should be few and far between. They're a lot of trouble for Anet and those resources are better spent in other areas. Also, if you redecorate major cities for every inane holiday that comes down the pipe you're hardly ever going to see them looking normal. Events are only special if they're rare.

Too close to Chinese New Year. On that note, sign my Chinese New Year Thread!
Seriously, there's too much work to program every single holiday. Once you throw in Valentine's, people will be asking for Ground Hog Day, April Fool's Day, Independence Day, Canada Day, Mexican Day of the Dead, Talk Like a Pirate Day (Sept. 19th), Day of the Ninja (Dec. 5th), Eat Brains Like a Zombie Day, Easter, ....
