Actually there have been no valid reasons against this idea, the only outstanding reason repeated over and over is that it does not belong, which isn't a balance issue, or legitimate discourse against the idea, in fact it there is plenty of place in the game for Shinobi, players just haven't gotten far enough to realize it. Furthermore not everyone dissagrees, the only people to make a legitimate point on this post are the ones that agree with me, all the people who have disagreed with me so far are people like you that make claims based on nothing, just claims.
So if you have a real argument against this class as an option then make a legitimate statement as to how it is out of place or would not work, the truth is that there are dozens of players posting ideas for another melee classes because there is only 1 melee class so far, and there are dozens of players who want to have a warrior who can dual wield or another job who can dual wield, just because so many WoW and D&D fanboys can't see past a rogue/thief title because that's what they saw elsewhere.
The game also involves an complete world with multiple cultures and backgrounds, like a real world, even more so, the rift is a connection to all worlds and times, which eventually leads to anything you can concieve. And any new class will have to come with additional storyline because there is no base for new classes in ascalon pre-seering, and Shinobi has the most foolproof explanation, because they are masters of disguise and espionage, so they simply wern't detected as of yet.
If you have a point, prove it, don't bring back your weak, pointless dissapproval with no explanation or grounds to enforce it, I don't take baseless statements as an arguement. I make a point when I write a post, you just don't read them as to protect your ignorant point of view, your the one rambling on "nothing at all".
As for calling people ignorant, it is a technical phase that I use properly to describe people to make brash statements without any foreknowledge or insight, that doesn't amount to anything. Here let me help you out.
ig·no·rant
1) Lacking education or knowledge.
2) Showing or arising from a lack of education or knowledge: an ignorant mistake.
3) Unaware or uninformed.

Please keep it civil. If you don't like this idea, you are invited to disagree and to give arguments and to explain your opinion... politely. If you like the Shinobi idea, feel free to post new arguments but don't bump this thread needlessly or it may be locked.

I personally dont like the idea, usually when you introduce a class like that to an mmorpg, u get 5 billion ninjas instead of a few. I mean its a ninja class, who doenst wanna be a ninja. I think everyone in there life time has wanted to be a ninja at least once. I just dont want to see the guild wars world fluttered with people hiding in trees, bushes and backflipping around town. My personal experience would have to have been with Ultima Online samurai empire. I was playing the game and just found a bunch of samurai and ninjas running around everywhere.
But all in all, i guese its just how they go about creating this class.
The idea just doesnt appeal to me.

I understand that it might be a bit to popular, but I think any cool new class would get a flood of new people playing it, not just because it may be so cool, but because alot of players might have exsausted all the other classes and want to play as something new, and I would personally be very disappointed if they made a new class that wasn't very cool.
The truth is, I have a hard time playing as anything but a ninja, samurai, or something to do with dragons, thats just my identity in most games. But I try to enjoy the classes available, it's not like thier bad, but man does that elementist dance suck
Anyhow, I'm done here, I'm going to spam my idea on every other site! ........ when I get around to it. I hope some kind of katana wielding Class will become available though, it's just so much cooler then that fat warrior oaf.

Spam other sites? Good. I don't want to see this thread on page 1 of Sardelac Sanitarium ever again.

I can hardly believe you. There have to be a million games out right now that feature ninjas and samurai and super saiyyan crap whatever... but instead of playing those games you are tenaciously moving to get them added to our already really cool game that doesn't need them.. My only comfort is that after playing the game it's obvious the devs are slick enough to never, ever consider an idea like this.

Sorry, but this is too hilarious in my mind to pass up. It'd be like seeing a lamborgini in a star wars movie, cool? Sorta. Out of place? Completely.

Fortunatly for me, the Devs have already made the statement that they will have new classes in the furture. Even more favorable is thier previous experience at Bnet, these are the same guys that helped with D2 and Warcraft, and it is quit ovious that they rehashed a great deal of concepts and classes from D2. Ironically Assassin and Druid were the expansion characters for D2 and Druid is already in the storyline for GW, whereas Assassins need no into because thier culture is one of secrecy.
The tengu use thier weapons underhanded, and model a fast, ninjitsu like advancing stance, and from reading the latest GW lore, they are ambushers in whole. This is already the makings of a Assassin or Shinobi class.
I have no doubts that there will be an Assassin, much more rather then Shinobi, because that's probably what they already planned on. But I wanted to provide a very interesting and original alternative.
As for super ultimate (broken) moves of death, there are dozens of them at the end of the game, for every class. Hell, a sword attack that adds 32 damage, on top of your normal damage, and an extra 32 damage if your opponent has less then 50% health, that is a ultimate killing move.
My ideas for Shinobi are very balanced, it combines with warrior for even more damage, but leaving him with as few healing options as a W/R, but more importantly, it gives mages a more useful hit and run class to melee with, because they don't have the warriors armor class it is itiotic to melee a warrior with anything but a warrior. This provides a very balanced and useful option to the game, whether your blowing things out of proportion in your mind or can't imagine a Shinobi in Ascolon without considering the diversity of Tyria as a whole world and not a single nation you've never been able to leave does not limit this from being an option.
How much power and how it would actually work would go under total overhaul if it became a class for the game, I'm not sending a program with all the power decided, I made an intricate and complete concept for a class, it would be enable through design, test, and alteration through developement.
Fast pace weak bashing attacks, counter attacks, charged melee attacks, and positional attack skills. None of these are used by current classes, and none of them are broken, they would be designed with the proper power to be fair. And anything powerful about them are subject to conditions, if you read up you realize that "uber death moves" take preperation, but moreover, Shinobi has to overcome warrior armor with higher damage attacks, wile a warrior can hurt a Shinobi because lower armor ratting.
I need to work, later

I think there should be various different professions and maybe even a custom profession maker in the character dev part it's not hard to implement i have a feeling it will never happen but one can only hope
also as far as a theif the only reason i would oppose that class is that i see no use for theif skills in the game unless they added traps and things that were a part of other RPG games which would make the class useless unless they changed the game from the very begining
