elemental weapon mods
i just thought that elemental weapons could use a bit of a buff. people dont use alot of elemental swords/axe/dagger.. (except dervishes) cause they arent nearly as good as vamp/sundering. might change up the weapons ppl use a bit.
earth 10% chance to inflict weakness for 10 sec
fire 10% chance to inflict burning for 3 sec
ice 10% chance to cripple for 5 sec
lightning 10% chance to knockdown or blind for 5sec
i can see how this might be a problem with skills like cyclone axe/triple chop/dervish attacks so maybe it should only impact the one monster you attack.
what do you think?

People that know what they are doing using elemental mods. They don't need a buff.

Monsters have different weaknesses. Warrior (may probably) have less armor against elemental than against physical.
There is an use already for elemental attacks.
With my Ele, I make Koss use a Fire Axe to trigger my Mark of Rodgort.
It works really great.

There's also the Conjure [element] series that gives damage buffs to elemental weapons.

i'm kind of torn on this one. elemental weapons do have an effect on various creatures (it would be nice to have more info on which creatures has which weaknesses) already, but those ideas by the OP look kind of neat. Some of the durrations seem a bit long... better than some skills. a weapon shouldn't have a side effect better than an actual skill. or rather, maybe 5% of the time. 1 in 20 strikes, rather than 1 in 10. considering how often a sword or dagger might strike.

LOL. Well you obviously play PvE and vitually no PvP.
Do you realise how overpowered elemental weapons would be? KD for 5 SECS?!? etc etc. wow this idea is bad.
Elemental weapons are PvE things to attack enemies e.g warrior who are weak vs it.

Elements are great, mod your fav weapon with shocking and go fight the enchanted outside of Dunes of despair(if you've got prophecies) and you'll see why.
On a side note, I'd like to see elements have different affects on different mods.
IE
Platemale has extra damage pretection VS Shocking damage.(It grounds the power, bypassing the mushy meat filling) but at the same time, Fire damage is increased on Platemale, as it cooks that mushy meat filling. (Cold damage would slow thick leather materials, earth would do more damage to the scantily clad type armors.
It'd be entirely too hard to do acrost the board I suppose, so many different armor types, but I still think it'd add a unique twist to the armor that people choose, and the builds people take.
