Or if you have so much Kurzick faction / Luxon faction you have the ability to wear that factions armor on your PvP, IE Ally of Kurzick / Luxon.
many might not agree, I'm just throwing some stuff out there.

why do pvers have this no one else should have what I have closed minds?
if it were for me you would get emotes for for opening chests or casting mending so many times, dont turn this in other pve vs pvp battle and give actual reasons why it wont work.
As of now I dont have anything to spend my balthazar faction, its like you would get gold and you wouldnt get anywhere to spend it, it feels like youre wasting it.

i agree with Jeff Highwind, everybody would be a pvp char just because they could have obsideon armor without having to constantly farm to earn it

I'm sorry, but what?
Last time I checked this was a game, a game was meant to be played and to have fun. As far as I'm concerned, why the hell shouldn't we be able to make our pvp characters look cooler, it's a game that should be played for the fun and enjoyment of the player.
As for the argument of "no one will PVE if PVP can get cool skins too" is BS. Go sodomize yourself with a broom right now. Speak for yourself, I know many people who play PVE to have fun. What is the crap of which you speak of that says "People play PVE SOLEY because they get access to elite weapon and armor skins?" Go get a fakin life.
Knight Othin Of War: You're wrong. You can't bring obsidian armor on pvp characters outside battle isles, and even at that, how many people do you know of that can hold 50K faction? With the raise in faction cap due to titles, they could easily limit the better skins to people with a higher faction cap since they're not needed for PVP play like skills are.
Easily put: Make some skins available for purchase only after certain conditions have been met and even then you need enough PVP titles to hold the faction to buy them. Here's a sample idea:
15K Mesmer Kurzick Armor : 15K faction, Friend of the Kurzicks
Elementalist Obsidian Armor: 50K faction, All Skills and Upgrades Unlocked, Rank 3 (afterall it is the UW)
Warrior Vabbian Armor: 30K faction, All Warrior Elite skills and upgrades Unlocked
If you're whining about how that's too cheap or too expensive, then you've missed the point.

I and others have mentioned this before and i know that ANet have discussed more uses for faction in the past...
To those that think that armour skins require farming, they still would require much faction gain to unlock, ok, compared to buying them in PvE maybe not as much, but they would still need work...

What if maybe instead of being able to unlock the existing PvE high-end armor; they made a whole different set of PvP vanity armors you could unlock.....

As stated, the 15k's are rewards for PLAYER VS ENVIRONMENT players. Since they decide to grind through storylines to build up their characters, The vanity armors and weapon skins are their rewards for their effort. Even if it's a Tournament prize it's still *point, click* YAY OBSIDIAN!

first of all...chill out! seccond, 15k is way to easy to get lol hardly a prestige but ahwell. And third Anet issent full of retards (rly?!) i mean obsidian armor availeble to unlock? now that would be a waste
like other guys alrdy said, if ya just put in a few more 1,5k nd that still look cool (like platemail) it would be a big improvement (considering all the other armor skins for pvp chars atm are rly crap..)

PvP characters are supposed to look generic so you know they're PvP. PvE characters make effort to getting less generic and more unique armor, don't make it something that can be so easily achieved.
You PvP people lay off the PvE side. If you want cool skins work for it with a role playing character and quit whining about it. Too much time and money for you? Too bad, because some of us can do it. That's like saying give Mercedes and Lexus cars to the homeless.

ANET has done a lot to basically level the playing field in terms of PvP toons vs PvE ones in PvP events. Which is a good thing. But this is solely in terms of power level. PvE toons used to have the advantages over PvP ones in this regard.
The issue of Armour unlocks and weapon skin unlocks is of course a different issue. Its purely about looks and not game advantage (unless of course people get intimidated by your 1337 fellbalde and 15k ). Now this doesn't mean that its a bad idea to have the option of unlocking some new skins.
I currently have nothing to do with my faction. I've got a fairly large holding pool and its currently full and everything else is unlocked. It would be nice to have something to do with it. The main reason that seems to be suggested for not allowing this is something like,
"PvP players haven't grinded through PvE to get it. Do the work and then u deserve it."
But 15k armours are not hard to get. Play the nightfall through once and your're likely to be in a position to get some if you simply save up your earnings and sell the items and drops you get. Its not hard to beat the game. Its much harder and much more of a grind to play enough pvp to have all the skills, items and heros unlocked and to be in a position to spend faction on something less functional like the look of your character. I don't think we're all asking for the uber stuff. But some more variety in armour and a few more common weapon skins to select from is surely not unreasonable and wouldn't in any way devalue the efforts of pve'ers who worked to get their gear.
I'm not looking for Vabbian armour and Golden Pheonix Blades, just something other than a generic freakin long sword.

But it's not about getting to the 15k crafter, it's about earning the gold and materials needed for it. Plus, who cares if you don't think it takes alot of effort? It's meant for PvE and it should stay that way. PvP is for stats, not looks.
Plus unlockable content like this with Balthazar Faction will ruin everything. You can leech, FF in the Zaishen... You can solo the IW Zaishen team with an Ele under 20 seconds for over 150 faction easily. Stupid, stupid, stupid idea.

But why should it? Where is it written in stone that no vanity skin unlocks should be avaialble for pvp toons? This won't ruin anything as long as the best stuff and unique stuff still existed for pve. Fix the leeching problem and there is no problem.

I still say that if PvP just had different vanity skins available than the PvE ones; there wouldn't be as much opposition to it.

PvP characters are supposed to be EQUAL. That's what they're infamous for. Therefore having advanced armor sets you must unlock for wouldn't work.
Besides, PvE and PvP have different boundries that shouldn't interfere each other.
PvE:
-Gold
-Different Skins of Armor/Weapons
PvP:
-Faction
-Same Skins of Armor/Weapons, access to all possible upgrades.

I play PvE and PvP equally and I don't see why adding a few extra skins to PvP toons would be a problem.
I'm tired of seeing the same weapons in PvP because there is only 1 skin available (except staffs). A little variety would be good, it doesn't have to be all the expensive skins just something different.
Also I think if you grind for your armour in PvE it should be usable for PvP toons.

Yea. Along with this proposal, A.Net should also make fame, gladiator points, champion points trade-able and purchasable, say
1 fame - 1k balthazar faction or 5k gold
1 champion point - 2k balthazar faction or 10k gold
1 gladiator point - 1.5k balthazar faction or 7.5k gold
So PvPers wont have to PvE to get unique skins and PvErs wont have to PvP to get the PvP perks.
