Add more Gamer Point Rewards
I for one am trying to aim getting a SKillz title and eventually want Über Micro Skillz (5) but it'll take forever at the rate the rewarding system is going for the RollerBeetle Racing. 7 for 1st palce, 5 for 2nd, 3 for 3rd, 2 for 4th, and 1 for 5th and 6th... Something tells me this doesn't seem right.
I spent roughly 5 hours (with little breaks in between) racing, and accumulated 140 or so tokens and barley 150 Gamer Points. The title I want is 12,000 points. Hell, (1) requires 1000. How can you achieve something like that when the oppurtunities are only weekend based??? Not everyone likes to stay glued to their computers during a weekend, and even if you did it would take way too long to the point where Guild Wars would probably die out before you can get access to such a title...
I think they need to add more points for the race seeing how we don't have many oppurtunities for these points. This is a title that deserves just as much attention as any other title.
A possible suggestion:
1st place = 50 points (7 Lunar Tokens)
2nd place = 25 points (5 Lunar Tokens)
3rd place = 10 points (3 Lunar Tokens)
4th place = 5 points (4 Lunar Tokens)
5 & 6th place = 2 points (1 Lunar Token)
This would make the title actually possible to achieve and IT STILL requires quite some racing grind. Either that or keep the minigame with the same point system permanently. But even then that's tough.
And please don't come in telling me I "just suck" at races. I've gotten 1st place quite a few times and I would win more if the lagspikes weren't so horrid.
I really like the race game, but the point system isn't quite fair.

The points are fine imo...you can't expect ANet to hand you over the title on a silver platter, and you can't expect to get Uber Micro Skillz overnight. 50 points for win, that's way too much. If you want a title, earn it. If you have to grind for it, grind for it. If you don't want to grind for it, then don't.

I agree that there's nothing wrong with the points system. You obviously have never gone for Legendary defender of ascalon... God, now I'm imagining what that would be like if you could only work on it over special events.
Anyway, at least at every event there is a different game to earn gamer points. It's a lot better than the grind you have to put in for other titles. I actually want to max out this title (Hell, I wanna max out all titles), but I don't mind taking my time at it. All titles take time, otherwise you'll have a seizure, or go insane, or your brain will melt. Or a combination of those.

That's what the OP doesn't like. He wants ANet to hand him the titles on a silver platter.

Arkantos, you don't get it, do you? You obviously haven't been trying to achieve gamer points from this event, now have you?
"I think they need to add more points for the race seeing how we don't have many oppurtunities for these points."
The Wintersday point system was completely fair, but this...
One weekend to grind for not even 1000 points? I doubt Guild Wars will still be around for another 12 holiday events. Let's get real. Either they add a permanent way of achieving them at a fairly slow rate or boost the points during the SMALL time they're here. I grinded alot yesterday for them and didn't even get 200 so don't tell me I can't work for it if you don't know what I'm talking about, k thx.

Yeah, I got 250 points from Wintersday, just doing a few casual snowball fights a day over a period of a week. If I do the same thing for Racing I'll get ~15 Gamer points a day.

The problem isn't that it takes time, its that they don't give you said time.

The real problem is, you earn points MUCH slower doing this then you did during snowball arenas.
It should be increased to be equitable.

snowball fights = around 10m or something like that. 1 win, which wasnt very hard = 10 points
beetle racing, takes 5 mins per race. IF you come first, which is very hard to do, you get 7... seeing as this event is only for 4 days also, you have no hope in hell of getting the title. not even lv1

The problem with that is that the event is not open for anywhere near long enough of at time to grind for it.
Since the event is only for a few days and there is no time to grind for any semi-high version of the title, (ie: 3 or higher), the gamer point rewards should indeed be way higher.

Well since Anet ruined this event's oppurtunities for the points I can only hope they do MUCH better during the upcoming Dragon Festival (next holiday event coming).

*Wonders if he spent 5 straight hours rollerbeetle racing for tokens, not gamer points.*
Yeah, I did try to get gamer points this weekend. But have you ever thought rollerbeetle races weren't meant for you to grind 1,000 gamer points? I grinded 239 gamer points in that 5 hours so I know what you're talking about.

It actually takes 3 minutes, and it usually ends before that 3 minutes.

Raced like crazy with the beetles and only have about 180 gamer points. 50 points for first place may be a bit high (I'd have about 500-600 points if that was the case), maybe a little lower.

The Gamer Title is NOT meant to get during one weekend. That is why you can only obtain the points during special events. I got Tier I in the Gamer Title during Wintersday and I got about 200 points this time. I don't really care if I max out the title but I will probally get Tier II or III by the time I stop playing GW. It is fine how it is. Aside from the Protector of X Title, you can't get any title in one weekend, why make this one so easy to get.
Btw, I 100% agree with Arkantos.

I'm not saying get it in one weekend, but it was impossible to get the 1st rank from this weekend when there's about 7 ranks. And did you EVER think maybe people have lives to attend to during weekends or they cannot make certain festivals? Every other title you have all the time in the world to do so except this one...
Every oppurtunity I get I try to grind gamer points but this weekend was terrible for that when Gaile promised it was a good oppurtunity to...

Contradiction ftL.
Edit: And yes people do have lives during the weekend, your right. I travel constantly for sports. When the Gamer Title was introduced we had like 12ish days. I was away on vacation for 7 days and was gone all day for 2 days for a sports tournament. That leaves me with 3ish days (forgot how long Wintersday exactly was) And I got the title. Now I don't sit at my computer all day and throw snowballs. The longest I play is from 8pm-11:30ish.pm because I can't fall asleep earlier. And this title is unique because of that fact you can't work towards it whenever you want. That makes it special and the people who have it worked for it. Not everyone should have it. Hey, not everyone has a Mini Panda.

I'm saying it was impossible to get the 1st rank from this weekend because it's not fair how this weekend you couldn't but the Wintersday event you could possibly even reach rank 5 with enough work grinded into it.

Wow, I can't believe someone had the gaul to say "grind for it".
If it involves grind it doesn't belong in GW, it should involve skill and reward effectively for success, simple GW guideline.
