Kurzick and Luxon Armor for NF Characters
I would love to see Kurzick armor available for my Dervish and Paragon. I currently have 5 characters and all 3 campaigns, and that is really my only suggestion. It would be nice to have the option to be able to have the map points for the major cities once your character travels to a new campaign so you don't have to do the whole storyline again. I have stopped making characters in Prophecies because I HATE Pre-Searing Ascalon. Map travel is silly because there are only like 4 points and you have to walk everywhere else. It just takes too long. But, my point is, that is we could get the major cities (Kainening Center, House zu Heltzer and the Luxon Capital) then we could get armor for our non-Factions characters. What do ya'all think?

It's been suggested since before Nightfall even went live. They were nice enough to put sin/rit armors in Nightfall; but I really can't see them going back to add more armors to previous campaigns.
Despite the title of this thread, it actually focuses more on having cities unlocked by account. I'm against this idea. If you want to get to the high level areas, you should have to work your way through; not get a free ride just 'cause you've been there on a different character.

Nope, nope, nope, nope and nope somemore.
Armor availablilty moves forward from one campaign to another. Previous unique professions can get armor in new campaigns, but new unique professions cannot get armor from previous campaigns.
A very, very simple reason for this is to cut down on the development time of new campaigns.
Imagine we were up to campaign 4, and they were releasing campaign 5 and they had to create armor for the new unique professions in every single previous campaign.
Your talking about adding alot more time, effort and resources. Something we just dont need.
Every profession at the moment has a wide selection of armors already, including tyrian and canthan styles for all. We dont need more because the choice is wide enough.

It should be fun to have a whole new armour (like a Krytan one) on your Dervish, but it's a lot of work and if you really want it, I think you shouldn't be so lazy and get your Dervish's ass straigt to Kryta!
By foot!

More armour = more variety. All good.
/Signed for new class armour in old campaigns.
/Not Signed for Kurzick / Luxon in particular (its a Canthan internal affair, and those guys wouldn't care about foreign intervention).
But yeah... Canthan / Exotic / Imperial armour for Dervishes and Paragons... definitely.
Afterall... Factions had Tyrian armour available in it, and made the Exotic option open for Assassins and Ritualists. Its a pity that pattern stopped with Nightfall... which should have had at least one foreign armour import dude.

Canthan/Shing Jea/Seitung/Luxon/Kurzick/Imperial/Exotic.
They are not for foreing, specially Exotic and Imperial, only available for Ritualist and Assassin.
Exotic could.
Since there is 'Tyrian' and 'Krytan', they could add 'Elonian' and 'Kournan' in Cantha.

That sounds Great! What a better way of showing the love for your side than to wear the armour of your fave char and fave allegiance..I don't see why not. Yes I've read the aboves, Yes i know all about Back-wards emulation but just the thought makes me drool.

i've never understood why new campaign classes get the stiff on armor. the core classes are honestly spoiled rotten with the options they're given for skills alone, not even counting things like armor. it just makes the non-core classes even less desirable. equal opportunity armor is ftw!

But there are already NF armors for assassins,
why not Factions armors for Dervishes?

would love to have kurzick/luxon armors for my dervish. I've always seen kurzick/luxon armors in the same way as obsidian, in the way that everyone should have them. Wouldn't it be great if every chapter had at least ONE armor style that all professions share? Nightfall even had 2 i think. Though I understand dervishes and paragons doesnt come from factions, but it feels strange to go back to an old chapter and have nothing at all, armor wise..

And in reality that would add how much more work for the development team at Anet? Creating armor for every profession which exist in every previous and current campaign will add alot of work and add to development costs.
As I said in a post, imagine when we get to campaign 4 and they released campaign 5. Lets assume we were up to around 12+ professions with the release of campaign 5.
Your talking about not only designing new armor for the 6 course professions and the two new unique professions. But also armor for the other 4 previous unique professions plus armor for the new profession in the previous 4campaigns.
Thats alot of armor they have to design.
It would come to a point where originality was scrapped just to get something made. It would all start to look very similar and they would run out of ideas alot faster.
The fact is that we already have a very wide range of armor for every profession. We have around 4-6 sets for each one, which is alot. And armor which is uniquely designed for each profession, which is something i've not seen in other MMOs.
We should be greatfull for the work Anet has done. They could have just done what WoW does and make us wear generic cloth, mail and leather armor which doesnt even match or co-ordinate. Instead we have nicely designed, combining armor which looks gorgeous.
Im not saying it wouldnt be great if they added new armor each time for every profession. It would. But its a side effect of how Anet made GWs. The reason only core professions is because they are core profession to the fantasy world. They exist on each continent and island.
You dont find Devs in Cantha so how could we have their armor there? it makes no sense culturally.

/notsigned for cities waypoints (even though that'd be convenient)
/signed for new armors
I've read all pro's and con's. Basically, we all like new armor choices, especially for new professions (core professions already get many new styles, a disproportionate amount of it if you ask me). But we also want to get new campaigns on a regular basis...
In short: I drool at thought of luxon paragon, but also at thought of campaign 4.
I have three new ideas to solve this dilemma:
First, the unspoken rule so far is to produce new armor sets for core & new professions (and previous new professions if you're feeling nice). That means that core profs get most armor choices. That rule is broken and should be fixed. The new corrected rule should be to design new armor for professions that have fewer choices. Currently, paragon and dervish have fewer choices, so next chapter should add extra armor for them, as well as plenty for the new professions. These new armors may then be attainable in old chapters, thus encouraging people to buy multiple chapters (which is good to get $ to ANet, which they deserve for their fine work).
Second, they could recycle some "monster" armor as player armor. Some fine examples are armors worn by humans like the Kournan army, the Imperial Guards, etc. The work needed to fit them to characters would be relative small, for a greatly increased variety in choices of armors.
Third, you could introduce a "disguise" armor that looks like a regular armor, but when you collect all pieces and wear them, you take the appearance of a monster. These would obviously be elite armors, obtainable as end-game armor or through elite missions.

/signed for kurzick and luxon armor for dervishes and paragons, been hoping they would do this since nightfalls release. I don't really care about canthan, jing shea, tyrian or krytan armor for the new professions, but I would like to see faction armor.

I'm thinking that at least all elite armor crafters be made forward compatible. That goes for factions and proph. Factions could be an expection to that in either NF/future characters get both 1.5k and 15k or they get neither. If you think about it, all faction elites are based on another armor kind, but for proph and NF you have a few in both that aren't based on a 1.5 model.
To be honest, you'd think there would be crafters for new classes in past campaigns as an economics issue: you can get more work and make more money if you designed some armors for those classes.

I think it might be a good way to encourage new players who only have factions or nightfall to try the older campaigns.

Fight you way there like everyone else has done.
I would agree that there should be some armor availaible in earlier campaigns for characters from later campaigns.
