It would be ok, as long in the main options tab you add an option to disallow other to see your profile.

A bio would be nice, but an entire database of activities and accomplishments is overkill. There are titles to prove most accomplishments, that is all they need to show, if that.

I like the idea, but at the same time it worries me.... I do agree it would be better then showing a title when it comes to pve, and someone sees it as they can the party invite, and you have to give them permision to see it, as u accept ppl to party....
but i think being able to edit it will open alot of doors that Anet really doesn't want to deal with....
Good things from it:
Lions arch would have less spammers.... Selling stuff, click on me, its in my bio... (which the search tab is somewhat helping with already)
Bad things from it:
click on someones bio and it is an advertisement to a website unapropriate things, or its just badmouthing someone
But if it had a quick summary, like...
Protector: Elona, Tyria, Cantha
Masters: (only shows missions on current continent if not protector)
Deaths: XXX
Age: X months
Current Energy: XX
Current Health: XX
Average Skill Dmg:
Average Healing Amount:
* i added the current things so ppl have an idea of what the person is build to, just a thought
I feel deaths and age go hand in hand... noone wants someone who has been around 2 months and already has 1k deaths... they r doen somethen wrong
Noone wants a healing monk for thunder head keep if average healing is 20hp...
Like i said i am throwing around alot of ideas...

It is a nice idea, but back in SWG I could only take so many "My family was killed by the empire when I was young so I swore...blah blah blah blah"

While I agree that the text would need to be filtered, the bio idea is open for refinement of course. Basically the main idea is to show accomplishments, etc.. Currently our titles etc are on an all or nothing basis. (Either you have a certain one or not, and can only show one at a time). Many players did the work and earned each victory, and title. They deserve the recognition. Not everyone hired a runner and bought their way to the end. While there would be no way of knowing who did what, I think this is a good way of helping those that really did the work.
As far as whether they show this info or not, that needs to be an option. I really think those for this idea far outweigh those against. I mean really, if you don't like the idea don't use it. But those against it have no right to tell everyone else how to live. The few trolls that exist only in game and on the boards (no real life) are not the voice of the majority. And rightfully need to be ignored. Judging from the ideas being formed for Gw2, Anet is listening to the masses and not the vocal minority that want things their own way and damn the rest.
Thank God!
