Treasure Hunter suggestions
Okay, here's what led me to even think of some of these ideas:
I'm a rank 4 Treasure Hunter right now, and I don't know about anyone else, but with how much I play GW and chest run, my thumb is starting to kill me.
Yes, I know I should just take a break, or re-map the button. That's not the point. The point is, the game shouldn't be fatiguing to the freaking point of carpal tunnel syndrome in order to achieve something.
So, here's my suggestion:
Rank 1 Treasure Hunter: Nothing.
Rank 2 TH: Nothing.
Rank 3 TH: When your title is selected as viewable, Treasure Chests will automatically be displayed on your viewing screen when they come into view. This would be the same effect as if you were holding down Alt.
Rank 4 TH: You gain a 5% further viewing distance when searching for Treasure.
Rank 5 TH: You gain a 10% further viewing distance when searching for Treasure (10% total, not 15).
Rank 6 TH: You gain 15% further viewing distance, and have a 1% chance of not losing your key upon opening a chest.
Rank 7 TH (Max title, 10,000 chests): You see all Treasure Chests on your minimap (displayed as a blue dot), you have a 2% chance of not losing your key upon opening a chest.
I think all of these are fair, interesting, and add to the title a little bit. It makes sense to me for these reasons:
1. A seasoned veteran of any profession gets strangely good at his job. Anyone can vouch for this if you have done something for a long time. You don't have to think about the small things anymore, or most of the big things. You just know. This can explain the further viewing distance. After hunting for so long, you can pick a chest out of a pack of monsters a little easier, because you recognize the shapes / colors / height, width, overall size of the container.
2. If you do something long enough, chances are you'll have that one random time when something extraordinary happens that makes you say "wow!" It's happened to everyone at least once in their life. This explains the 1 / 2% chance of not losing your key upon opening the chest. You get lucky and the chest is already unlocked (easiest explanation).

cool... i like the ideal you said noting about higher rank being "an x% of it being "gold" keep it 50/50 (more like 70/30 heheheh)
The ideal of not losing a key.... sweet
Only down fall is someone using the rank to charge for Chest runs. but i'm sure the hard core runners aren't like that or solo most of the areas.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if the Treasure Hunter + Wisdom tracks were per account, not per char... 10 chars x10,000 chests = Carpal Tunnel Syndrome x 10

Holding Alt is numbing. I have no room to complain though only at 2400 chests. I have a guildie with 11000+chests
