Kinetic Leech
I'm open to supportive criticism and communal brainstorming. For skimming ease, I've divided the post into three sections:
I. The Kinetic Leech - For the skimmer: a quick explanation of the basic concept, attributes, insignias, strengths, weaknesses and originality.
II. Tactics - For those with some time on their hands, a brief illustration of a few battle strategies.
III. Skills - For the ambitious reader, a tentative list of skills.
I. THE KINETIC LEECH (K):
-spawn of Abbadon, Door to Death.
"Foolish Mortals, I will scourge your souls!"
Skill and Boss Color:
-Green
Emblem -
Followed God/ess/s:
-Abbadon
Racial Availability:
-Human/Undead
Health and Energy:
-Maximum Health 480.
-Maximum Energy 30.
-2 pips of energy.
Armour:
Headgear
-Hood
-Starter Armor: AL 10
-Low: Al 20-30
-Medium: AL 40-60
-Maximum: AL 70
Bladed Glove.
Slashing Damage 4-12 (no req)
One handed
Energy +10
one attack every 1.22 seconds.
Offhand.
(skill) +2
Energy +12
Background:
A kinetic Leech is a form of Wraith with a mortal appearance. Usualy seen behind enemy lines, the kinetic leech wields a Magicly powerful Bladed Glove and usualy an offhand. The Leech uses kinetic powers to drain life and mana from opponents, manipulating it into powerful energy offputs and usualy to fuel it's own attacks.
Function:
The Kinetic Leech acts in the position of a Necromancer, stealing from enemies and using it to deal heavy attacks. However the Kinetic Leech can also summon Torment Creatures to it's will at the price of health and mana.
Attributes:
1) Leech Mastery - Determines the amount of health/mana stolen.
2) Conjuration - Effects the amount of mana/health needed to summon demons.
3) Demonic Arts - Determines the amount of damage given off.
4) Kinetic Arts - Determines how powerful Self buff spells are.
Strengths:
1) The Kinetic Leech can keep a strong health bar by leeching.
2) The Leech can directly damage enemies using demonic arts
3) The Leech can keep a strong mana bar with kinetic skills
Weaknesses:
1) The Kinetic Leech is Vulnerable to melee damage.
2) The Leech suffers 30% extra damage from holy damage.
3) The Kinetic Leech has no defence against AoE damage.
Insignias:
Abbadon's Insignia
Armour +5 (When effected by a curse)
+5 (When effected by two curses)
+5 (While effected by three curses)
Demon's Insignia
Energy +10 (while effected by an enchantment)
Health -10 ( while effected by an enchantment)
II. TACTICS:
In general:
The Kinetic Leech should in general should play as a nuker/SS build. It deals damage to enemies through demonic arts, while keeping health up with leech mastery. It also has good self buff skills in kinetic arts and can summon Demons when confronted with a melee opponent.
Leech, Blast, summon, repeat:
A kinetic Leech would enter battle and immediatly choose several targets to leech from, it's leech bonds are hard to throw off and on multiple targets supply a decent fuel of health/mana, these skills should be recast whenever they are thrown off. The Leech should then get straight to work throwing up kinetic barriers and stealing health when needed. If faced with a tank that has broken through the lines, the Leech will summon a demon to aid it while Rezzing.
III. SKILLS:
Leech Mastery
Wraith's Hunger - Leech Bond, 5e. While this hex remains on an enemy, they suffer -1...3 health and mana degeneration, and you have +1...3 Health and mana Regeneration. Cannot be removed, chance: (10%)
Feast of Souls - Elite Leech Bond, 15e. While this hex remains on target foe. Target foe and two adjascent foes suffer -2...4 Degeneration and you have +2...4 Regeneration for each foe it is effective on. When this bond breaks, you are nocked down. Cannot be removed, chance: (20%)
Demonic Arts.
Black Lightning - Demonic spell, 10e. Target foe is struck for 14...32 Chaos damage. You are 'Dazed' for 3 seconds.
Birds of Death - Demonic spell, 10e. A swarm of crows strike target foe for
12...21 cold damage.
Signet of Torment - Demonic Spell, 5e. Target foe is struck for 4...18 cold damage and they are nocked down for 2 seconds.
Avatar of Abbadon - Demonic spell, 15e. For 45 seconds you take the form of Abbadon. Your attacks deal chaos damage, you gain +10 energy and you deal +10 damage to Mortals. This skill is disabled for 120 seconds.
Conjuration.
Call of the Titans - Conjuration spell, 15e. A level 10...21 Pain Titan is spawned at your location. As long as it lives you suffer -5 health and mana degeneration.
You are nocked down.
Call to arms, Reaper. - Conjuration spell, 10e. A level 8-18 Margonite Reaper is spawned at your location. As long as it lives you have -3 health and mana degeneration.
Kinetic Arts.
Scourge of the Wraith - Kinetic skill, 5e. For 10 seconds whenever you are damage, 50% of the damage is converted into energy.
I realise this may be overpowered atm but i just felt like making one x].

I dont think any profession should follow Abbadon as a god.
Even necromancers which are totally death oriented follow grenth.
Traveling to NF with a character like this would kinda contradict yourself by going to kill your own devoted god.
This would be a pretty good idea for a future style of GW where there would be the good vs evil or holy vs dark/chaos. realm vs realm sort of thing.
Wraith's Hunger - Leech Bond, 5e. While this hex remains on an enemy, they suffer -1...3 health and mana degeneration, and you have +1...3 Health and mana Regeneration. Cannot be removed, chance: (10%)
this skill just seems way overpowered. -3 energy degen? even wither only does -1.
you have not stated a duration or recharge/cast time so i cant fully say its too unbalanced.
Abbadon's Insignia
Armour +5 (When effected by a curse)
+5 (When effected by two curses)
+5 (While effected by three curses)
for this insignia, i would consider when effected by bonds instead, since bonds seem to be the main thing for the character.
Demon's Insignia
Energy +10 (while effected by an enchantment)
Health -10 ( while effected by an enchantment)
This insignia seems a little over powered too, it could essential give your character +50 energy for the cost of -50health which can be offset with a sup vigor, and some fortitude mods. it's like a insane version of radiant.

For Genths sake! Why is it a Kinetic leach?
Kinetic means physical manipulation, moving/pushing.
So it is a pushing leach does it gain energy whenever someone pushes someone else, or energy from moving creatures suffering from slow hexes?
Other than that it's not all bad, well ok 60% of it is but still;
Black lightinging for instance raises that there are no nuking spells that are easely interuptable, dazed causes spells to cast 100% slower and be easely interuptable, if you have a spell that casts 1/2 dazes is not so bad.
It gives me an idea of how to force a class with artilery function to stay in the back line.
Leaching is soooooo overpowered, +1-3 energy regen per hex(depending on recharge you might have it on multiple foes too), and health regen too, forget blood magic and soulreaping this is much stronger.
If it was a primary that would prevent my necro from abusing too much, but you haven't actually written down what the primary is.
You have a weapon bladed glove that has no requirement pumps energy and can be used together with an offhand.
That has to be meant to be abused by every caster out there?
It is a melee caster weapon, that lets you have +27 energy instead of +17.
Reduce the energy by 5 and make it attack a little slower(illusionary weaponary becomes insane if the speed is 1.22) and give it to every caster, like a 3d choice asside from a staff or a wand sacreficing ranged attacks for a bit of extra energy, that might be a good addition to GW2.
Still even then they should have an attribute, to make sures level 1's can't use end game greens.(in PvP against eachother, would be unfair)
I'm probably reading Conjuration wrong but, you are spawning mobs right?
They are not some friendly obeying pets, but the actual thing that attacks anything not of it's own race(You just hope it picks the enemy and not you or your team, summonign it and running away is a logical way to make sure fo that ofcource)
Which is rather intering, there could be good uses for that, it's definatly not been suggested before.
(other than abusing them to powerlevel, perhaps they should just not give XP)
Lastly you have 1 skill in kinetic, which would be correct if it was melee only, still there is no way to link death and pushing/moving.

well i was gonna put pshycokinetic leech but i want it even shorter now, probably just leech is fine.
soz about kinetic thing, i was just sorta trying to shorten psychokenisis but was very very wrong. Bear in mind this WAS posted at like 10 oclock my time and i was being a retard. Apart from that conjuration was NOT spawning mobs it was spawning allies (like minions for necros) which was obviously overpowered seeing as they were like level 20. I know this build wouldn't make alot of sense in the current gw. but in gw2 you cant travel back to gw1, so depending on the storyline it could makesense. I was just trying to get the GENERAL idea of the build out. A class that leeches off other players (overpowered i know, sorry i want to decrease it alot but iots just the idea) and
offers a new nuker.

call it a kinetic
We dont need another prof with green skills, i.e. Ranger and Necromancer
Make them Black and White, ive always wanted to see black and white skills, or black and red.
Also, its purpose needs some reworking. We already have a health leecher, Necro, and an energy leecher, Mesmer. GW needs its new classes to be innovative with new skill types and ideas that dont branch off of original professions. We dont need:
* High Damage Melee Class(Sin, War, Derv)
* Healing Class(Monk)
* Interrupting Class(Ranger, Mes)
* Shout and Chant oriented Class(Paragon)
* Enchantment oriented Class(Derv, Monk)
* Elemental Class(Ele)
* Degeneration Class(Necro, Mes)
* Attack chaining class(Sin)
* Minion/Spirit based class(Necro, Rit)
* Health Sacrificing Class(Necro)
* Shutdown Class(Mes)
* Weapon Spell Class(Rit)
* Wells and Ward Class(Necro, Ele)
* Energy Denial Class(Mes)
* Protection Class(Rit, Paragon, Monk)
I think that pretty much covers what we dont need, but what we do need, and what we haven't seen is a class having to do with Auras, or a class that uses chaining ecnchantments(enchantments that have to be chained to a certain number of players to have thier full effects). We also havent seen a way to remove weapon spells from enemies, as well as a class that bases on "covering" enchantments and conditions on other characters. This is just something to think about when thinking about a new profession. The Guild Wars community doesnt want to see a new profession that stems off of one we have already. We want to see something utterly new and exciting.

To clarify, I'm not flaming. This just needs some serious work.
I agree with:

Definition of Kenetic: "Relating to motion or movement." I'm so incredibly confused.

Yep, following Abbadon would completely screw over NF and really make you wonder why someone so evil is fighting for the common good anyways.
Now on to my own observations....

We already have lots of nuking options, why create another one? If your going to create a class introduce a new playstyle. Also if you already know exactly how it's going to play, I'm pretty sure the character isn't deep enough. And summoning Demons vs melee? I thought they were supposed to be weak vs melee.... *confusion*

1) Blood magic
2) Air magic
3) Inspiration
(Point being it's all been done)
1)He has 70AL, are you talking about adding a -vs melee?
2) Good idea
3) Not realy a detriment, I can't think of a class that does.
Guild Wars is about diversity. Every new campaign introduced professions with unique play styles and unique bonuses. The Kinetic just seems to be a hodgepodge of things that have already been done.

Is this a suggestion for GW2 or GW? GW only has humans, changing that now would be kind of clunky. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm thinking of a character modle like the Wraiths in Kryta.... they have a semi-mortal appearance... Or do you mean sort of like the opposite of Paragons?
No comment on skill balance, that can be changed. I just figured I'd give some pointers on how to make the concept better. GL!

*1) Then you should have saved this somewhere and waited until you were alert and thinking clearly before you posted it. Note: I am not flaming you.
*2) This has never been stated by any of the ArenaNet staff, and most likely it will not happen, since GW1 players cannot transfer their characters to GW2, which WAS stated by the ArenaNet staff.
