I like this idea but it should be restricted. A bit like WOW all red weapons should be BOP so you can only obtain them through them dropping (they're not tradable or sellable similar to the bonus item weapons.) They should also be one per char, possibly even one per account. I don't think they should be end-game for campaigns. They shoudl be dropped by bosses in hard areas of the game or for completing specific challenges. Maybe the fortress of Jahai could be opened up and a boss at the end could drop a red. Same with the iron forgemaster in SF. Not elite areas, ones that can still be done with henchies/heroes but require much more effort and facing multiple groups of mobs at once for instance.

I do think the mods should be more unusal. Like a staff that increases hax duration or adss 3% extra damage to all spells or a sword that gives you a very small chance to cripple the opponant with every hit.

Best. Analogy. Ever.

Added "realistic" sketches for all three weapons. I think a flaming "broadsword" is more fitting for Balthazar's heroic weaponry.

The high requirement should be (and stay) 15. I think Shiro's blades should have remained 15... They are the legendary blades of the Great Betrayer, after all. But then again, I have an odd sense of what "should" and "should not" be.

As for the drop rate, I think Red weapons should be extreamily rare. Make it so there's a 1/20 chance there will even be a drop for a group. On top of that, each character has a 1/8 chance of getting it if it does drop. I don't want to do the math, but I do know for certain that I'll stick with my Greens. ^_^"

One per account would be a bummer. What if you got the Remnant of Orr (or any spellcaster weapon, that is) but you don't have a spellcaster on your account? Then you no longer can get any other Reds... T_T (please correct me if I misread your post. I do that allot.)

But I agree (kinda) with the trading thing. These should be untradeable. Maybe. I'm impartial to this idea, actually.

Also, I think the mods should be bound to what in-game mods we have available. Anything more would make PvE too unbalanced... The only reason these Weapons should exist is to look cool. Not be better than a Green you can buy or a Weapon you can mod. I wasn't aiming for an "elitist's weapon", just something that would make you say to someone during a mission:

Bill Nye: Hey! Nice sword! Looks Awesome!
Lyra Smash Foo: Why, thank you! I got it during this REALLY bad-ass boss engagement. I was like "WHAM!" and he was like "CROAK!" and there it was!
Bill Nye: That's copasetic! I would never go against that boss (I'm allergic to dying) , but I got a shield and sword that do the same thing, just without that awesome look. :P
Lyra Smash Foo: That's chill. I think we should do the mission now...
Bill Nye: Science rulez!
Lyra Smash Foo: ???
Bill Nye: Inertia is a property of matter.
Lyra Smash Foo: ...

EDIT: Sorry, btw. Double post. >.<

Dont forget ArenaNet has already told us that there wil be a wider variety in weapon mods in GW2.

Also I dont think they will be addeting this feature to the game, only for the reason they are busy with GWEN, GW2, Hardmode + some events.

But i do really like the idea. But these weapons should only be able to be obtained by completing a really hard quest... Like the previous one of Razah (maybe still to easy)...
Because these are the Red weapons of the game. It is the Ultimate weapon there is for GW (not GW2).

So I /signed Great work/post!

I did notice that too.
But they'll probably be changed. Also for things like a staff, it may be a little bit different.

I'm all for having things that pvp can't use. Skills too. If it's too hard for them to adapt to they just want it nerfed. So here's the IDEA just nerf in for pvp, Leave my PvE alone.

This sounds really cool. 1 Per character would be better or maybe just like/bonus items.

oh and also not end up having a bajillion red weapons. like there are with greens.
