I can see why you can't add Inscriptions to weapons, but why don't they let you add insignias to armor ? Just feels stupid.
Ex : Johnny Killer bought full knights fow when he was farming 24/7. After some time, he realised he made a mistake, and now wants full glads. What would it be easier ? Buy another fow or add some stuff on your armor?...

Consider ANet
You all realize that ANet does actually want people to purchase more than one Campaign? <shock>
So, let's consider for a moment that some content is found in one Campaign and not another.
If you want something that badly, go out and buy the new Campaign.
Correct me if I am wrong, but most Elona armor doesn't come "off the shelf" with a lot of the stats that Canthan and Tyrian armor does. So the Insignia and Inscription system evens it out.
It does however make that armor much more flexible.
But asking Anet to go back and retool the first two Campaigns isn't cool.

This is solved easily.
1. Make all armor with no functionalities allow insignias. This includes collector ones.
2. Make all the non-perfect armor crafters craft only non-insigned armor. This mainly affects Prophecies until Droknar's Forge and Shing Jea.
3. Turn old armors with max armor insigned. Users won't notice the difference, since the attributes will stay the same. Yup, a lot of isignias will be created that way, but... I don't think that anyone will try to recycle an Obsidian armor to get a +10 armor bonus out.
4. Non perfect armor with functionalities will remain the same for a time, to let players have time to change to the new system, then, after some time (3 months is more than enough to make a charater get a better armor) , they will lose their functionalities, to prevent people geting free insignia from low level armor.
5. Make all the creatures in Cantha an tyria drop insignias in recyclable armor drops.
That should fix that.

I would like to keep my Kurzick 15k helm graphic but have something other than the newly added hard-coded +1 energy bonus for legacy helms. Right now I have to use an elona helm and just disable the head graphic (I don't like the look of the combo) if I want a more useful bonus.

I really would like to see this feature now that NF is realeased and all armos there have it. (Not sure about having it as a End Game feature though, a Armorer or just do it in the Inventory window like now would be the best)
Back in the old days i had to get different kinds of sets for my, let's say Necro. if i wanted to be a MM or SS ect, couse of the +5 armor bonus while controling a surten amount of minions or have/cast hex for the SS.
Now i mostly use the new NF set couse i can costomize it for my current build (gets Expensive to change back and so on, I REALLY want to set all my good old sets to different Builds and store them to it's use) But i do use my old ones to, but with less success i have notice, since it's not allways you want just thoes bonuses they offer atm. Well i have managed it this far so i'm not complaining. Just a really nice feature in NF and the future of Armor.

Not everyone already has Prophecies and Factions. Do you think that newcomers will want to buy more Guild Wars campaigns if they are not all equally sensible and up to date? With the best systems available in Nightfall, and with Tyria and Cantha outdated, I imagine new people being more inclined to just buying Nightfall.
In other words...

For someone new to Guild Wars, the question would be:
"Why should I buy the old chapters when I know that the devs have left them woefully inferior to the new chapter?"

BTW i an not happy about implementing material storage for tyria characters. in my opinion, if you want these types of upgrades then you need to buy the new chapters and move your toons through them like the rest of us.
also, tyria and cantha have their own personalities and introducing these new elements will ruin that.

I agree. And if they implement this you should only be able to do it if your account has a night fall CD key attached to it.

Insignia's should be a good reason to force some people to finally buy new armor. It's NF exclusive for now and should stay like that.

But keep in mind that keeping insignias exclusive to NF gives a lot of people a good reason to never buy old armor. When I sell crafting materials to lower level characters in Lion's Arch, I often ask them where they're getting their new, shiny maxed out armor at, and the answer is almost always one sided: the docks, Elona, the new continent, NF, etc.
Again, wouldn't making insignias (or for that matter, making any game improvement) exclusive to the campaign in which they were created devalue older campaigns?

At the very least, I think they should offer "insignia-able" Tyrian and Canthan armor in Elona to folks who have Prophecies and Factions added onto their account. I play mainly casters, and most of the time armor doesn't make a huge difference between life or death. So I choose my armor based on looks (well, half looks, half +energy), and quite honestly, a good part of the NF armor looks horrible. Just personal taste/opinion. Give me my Shing Jea or Bonelace - no fugly feathery crap.
Same with weapons. Anything white, blue, purple, or gold dropped in any campaign, providing the user has a NF key, should be able to be inscribed (which would overwrite any Proph or Factions-style mods).
But eh, everyone is right, one or both will happen eventually.

I fell in love with the Bonelace Armour skin today, so all excited, I look on GuildWiki as to where I can find this really cool looking armour. Well I was dissapointed to say the least when I saw it was Prophecies only and thus, stuck with the +15% vs. Peircing, and really, Radient pwns .

It's boring to see everyone wearing Elonian armors just for the insignia. And while Anet wants to sell new chapter, they need to take care of customers who bought, and those who are buying Prophecy and Factions too. Anet has the obligation to update Tyrian and Canthan armors, because they're still charging the same price for Prophecy and Factions in their online store.

Yup, old campings are been sold right now.
THere should be retroactive changes once in a while.
I would even pay for a 'remake' with new things, like moving mouths in cinematics.

Maybe they should do what they did in Cantha, have an armor crafter in one of the main cities that sells the older type armor with the new upgrades, or they could make a marker for your character that if you have certain campaigns then you would have access to the latest features in armors.
For example you would still have to go to the Marhan's Grotto to get the 15k Tryian Gladiator armor, but by having Nightfalls attached to your account, you would be able to Inscript it with Sentinels. I think by doing the latter you would have more incentive to come back and collect what you like for your character.
