We have whine, does anyone want some cheese with it?
This problem is hugely exaggerated, and there's countless other threads about it.

I really don't understand what all the complaints are about. In all the time I spent playing RA I never really found the quitters to be a problem. Most of the time it happens in the very first match. No problem, you just enter again until you find a team that works and gets some consecutive wins. I mean, most people play in RA to either:
- get glad points, which means you need a reasonably good team.
- test their new build, which still means you need a reasonably good team.
- or to just play with their favorite build and since everyone plays to win (right?), you need a reasonably good team.
Ragequitters do not make a good team. After getting one consecutive win you won't see anyone ragequitting anymore, except when you're about to lose anyway.

Wow, one quitter out of 40 games... And sometimes you win 1v4, 2v4, and 3v4. I've won a 1v4 as a fire elementalist, though it was pathetic that I did...
But I'm giving this a no.

So Wammo McRagequit kills the game process instead. Or pulls his Ethernet jack.

The reason I posted today is because I have the day off from work (Patriots day off in MA), I was playing some RA, and for an HOUR straight, every time I got into a game, at least 1 player left. I am not exagerating, I did not have a full team for an hour straight. Ridiculous.
I dont care as much about rage quitters as those who leave before the timer even hits 0.
I realize this issue has been beaten to death. What does this mean? That it bothers at least some people... if it doesn't bother you, great, sorry to waste your board space... but since there HAVE been so many threads about it, there ARE people who it bothers. I was suggesting what I consider to be a reasonable solution to the problem, not just whining. This IS the suggestions board isn't it?
It kind of annoys me when people jump all over me for making a suggestion. Yes I know the issue is a big deal with all the people (including me) whining about it, and I could understand getting pissed at me if all I was doing was whining, but I actually made a suggestion... so if you don't like it, thats fine. If you don't want to read about RA stuff, then why the hell did you read the thread?

Any of you who are saying that the leaving issue in the RA is not a big deal are not being reasonable.
It IS a problem. People drop in, and if they don't see a dream team they drop out.
It is a problem that is being talked about because it needs fixed. So if you don't like all the conversation about it you should all the more support a solution so all the talk will stop.
The people who leave simply think they can get faction faster with another team. A simple solution would be a significant faction penalty for leaving. I see no reason why this should not be implemented.

The problem is that peope go to Random arenas to play like in team arenas.
Nothing else, tey try to make the team once entered, instead of making it before, probably because no one wnats them on a team.
I say remove 1 gladiator point for each 5 fights you quit in a row.
Problem solved.

People will see this arena as an "arena which you are forced to stay" more than an "arena with no quitter". And then no one will come there.

I disagree with the OP in one area.
There is no reason to make another arena.
Just fix the one that is there.
A faction penalty is the only fix that's needed.
The random arenas WILL and always WILL BE everyones introduction to PVP.
Anyone who loves guildwars should be interested in making this the best environement possible.
Making people accountable for being disrespectful opportunists will not diminish the popularity of this entry level area of pvp. It will only set a standard of ethics for all that is GW pvp.
If guildwars is all about team play then lets make people play with the team they were given. AKA deal with the hand that they were dealt. It is RA right?
Anybody who opposes me is 1 of 2 people.
1. they don't give a shit about the random arenas.
2. they are the opportunists that like to leave when it suits them.

Neither of which are arguments against this much needed change.
If this proposed change is implemented and it creates an avoidance for you.... then so be it. GW will be far better without you.
