Lower static prices to match lower income
With the latest anti-farming change, income (in terms of spendable gold) has been slashed to 1/8th of what it was. The idea behind this is to reduce the cost of items traded between players, and to increase the value of gold in general. A side affect of this is that the relative cost of the "static" prices in guild wars have been increased dramatically. For example, where you could previously farm for 20 minutes to buy a skill, you now have to farm for 1-2 hours.
I propose the following static price changes- Skills cost 300g each (currently 1000g).
- Minimum Material Cost 30g per stack (currently 100g).
- Minimum Rare Material Cost 30g each (currently 100g).
- Cost of quests like Raze the Roost be set to 1/8th what they are now.
This is not a thread debating the weather the farming nerf is a good move or not - please do not turn it into one.

then gold would simply revert to almost the same value it was before. And A-net would have to lower the drop rates again. the cycle would just continue with gold getting lower and lower each time.
And I must protest, it can't take 2 hours to farm 1k. I can get that in 10min from ice imps.

The change was designed to lower the gold cost player traded of items because they were being placed out of the hands of common players, not to increase the relative cost of static items that were always available to all players.

That would imply you were getting 48k per hour before the nerf which I find very hard to believe. My experinence with imps post nerf is 1 run ~= 10 mins ~= 200g.

I never had problems buying / unlocking skills.
The only problem would be if I needed to unlock every possible skill on every character I have, both primary and secondary. But I don't see a need for that. I buy the skills I need in a build.
For general skill unlocks I have my PvP character, he unlocks for PvP and heroes on classes I don't play. I cap the elites with my skill-hunters.
I was always able to buy whatever normal item/armor I wanted without too much problems.
High end armors took some time, but halfway in NF both my Para and Derv were able to buy 15K sunspear, with gold earned themselfs from regular play.
I don't see the need to lower prices.

Your income was never supposed to be as high as it was with solo farming. The game is supposed to be this hard.

Point is the new system will make us grind for stuff unless we make characters then delete them after getting the money.
(Dang that's what A.net wants I guess)

You dont *have* to farm to afford merchant prices.. You only *have* to farm if you want to afford the insanely high priced 100+xx ecto crap out there, and you dont actually *need* those items, its only for show anyway...

Getting just 5 skills a week for each your characters would take 50k every week before you even start looking at buying things like armours, keys, scrolls etc.
I don't see how anyone can get that kind of money "playing normally", I'm lucky if I get 20k a week without farming.

If you're playing so much to *need* 5 skills per week you should be getting ALOT more than 20K/week...

Needing 5 skills per week I can understand.
I'm capping elite skills (btw, wtf is up with that? Gaile said no one would lose any titles: I lost adept skill hunter), just for fun. 5 skills per week would be a big meager to say the least.

Yeah...
One thing, it's A lot, not alot, man that pisses me off
Skill costs aren't so much unreasonable but with the vast number of skills across classes it effects the casual player (who doesn't come on the forums to check what monk skills are best for which situation).
I think skills should be reduced in cost, nothing else though.

She was referring to the Protector titles. Not the skill hunter title.

Agreed. Skill buying is a big gold sink in game for something that is fundamental to playing the game.

I don't want to have my pure sin or any other professions gimped because I'm missing a few skills due to lack of gold. i don't want to sit here killing things for merchant trash to sell for hours to afford the last , oh? 25k worth of skills.

There´s also the problem of equiping ur heroes. Collectors drops will need more time to get (more grinding) and buying the items from a weapons crafter will still cost 5k+crafting materials.
On the other hand heroes AI suxx in HM, so maybe we can just forget heroes.
One last question: what basic items werent able to be bought my non-farming players?
Theres only one type of thing it will become easier to get buy, and those are the mods and runes, due to high gold items drop in Hardmode.
