Great Idea HOWEVER I am guessing that with the Hard mode update coming that using the lockpicks succesfully will increase your lucky title, and failing will increase the unlucky title (thats just a guess)

I would however like to see this added for high end chests requiring keys so

I'd agree on this, with a few extra suggestions:

- 4-5 points for both golds from chests, and random gold drops would be good. That's what the clovers give, and is pretty much a drop in the bucket, so shouldn't speed people along too much. Note that ID'ing, or getting a gold, wouldn't do it. Just being the one to first pick it up (like gold eggs).

- It should probably be at most 1 point to the unlucky title for purple items from chests, since the max point scheme is a lot less.

- I'd also suggest that getting a green drop from a boss should give lucky points. Although since some greens are heavily farmed, I won't push the issue much.

For all golds to act like Golden Eggs and add 5 points to the Lucky Title track, and high end chests that drop anything other than gold give 1 point to the Unluck Title track.

I find this title difficult enough to get as it is. And well, it sucks wasting money on certain keys when the majority of them are crappy purple!

And this is why :

One, these titles are almost impossible to max right now - seriously.

Two, if finding a Gold item gives you +1 Lucky, then finding a Purple or Blue or White should give you +1 Unlucky. That way, the title will fluctuate, but usually stay pretty average.

Edit: This allso would allow those crazy enough to go FoW chest farming to get an adequate reward with the Lucky track. Because not only is chest hunting there very dangerous, but the keys are also very, very expensive.

Regarding the costs of the chests or opening them, next question would be if only high-level chests would give ++ to the title or the lower one too?
But I am pretty sure, there would be a lot of ascalon keyrunners, which would be hunting their unlucky title.
It could be interresting to change the amount of points given to the track regarding the costs of the keys, because its more dangerous to run FoW chests than Shiverpekaks ...

200g = 1 point Lucky/Unlucky
600g = 2 points Lucky/Unlucky
and so on ...

Its just an idea so I am open to criticism, but pleaase try to make it constructive.

/not signed. You already get two titles for opening a chest - the Treasure Hunter title AND, if you get a gold item, the Seeker of Wisdom title.

So, now you would advance FOUR titles by opening one chest? That seems a bit overkill to me.

As some people pointed out, getting access to multiple titles with one item is a bit extreme. 600g for 4 title points in different titles.
Compare that to 200g per drunkard/sweet tooth.
Now consider the fact that keys drop in explorable areas, but ale/fruitcakes etc drop during holiday events, so it kinda evens out.
Now consider the conveince factor of getting multiple titles at the same time.

I think the current system (possibily giving two titles at once at the expense of having to pay 200g then just purchasing 2 sweet items) seems balanced.

Great Idea. We need more oppertunities to progress in the lucky/unlucky titles, and I'm a big fan of chest running so I think this'd work really well. ^.^

have mixed feelings about this since it would be an overkill to advance four different titles with such an idea but I'd rather play the game to get the title.
I'm for it considering that most of players do get purples most of the time to the point that it is considered unlucky and a bad investment unless you happen to be lucky lol.

NO.

You can buy dwarven beer or rice licor.
You can farm mandragoras to both sunspear and get cakes.
Or pay 400g to buy rice cakes.
But with this:
- You won't have treasure points with chests with keys that cost than 600g, most of the time only unlucky pints, and some times (few) lucky and seeker of widom ones.
- With high-end chests, like those in urgoz, the rate to unlucky dramatically decreases, then you'll have three points, but since the chests are so few, you have still a way lot to go.

To get lucky title, you have to AFK around 300 hours, more than 1000 if done in the nine rings...

You will still need to open more than 1 million chets to get any of the titles this way.

So, just by making only the 600g chesta doing that, you'll still need mire than 600 million gold.

Yes, 4 titles but...
[1]Connoiseur Of Confectionaries : Got it for 1500k (FARM/BUY Bunnies)

[2]Treasure Title: Cost at least 6000k(refund around 2-3mil)
(=FARM/BUY/RUN/SELL Goldies to get refund)
Wisdom Title: Buy title for 11000k or farm untill 2010 to get the max title.
Lucky/Unlucky: Stay AFK in Kamadan during the festivals for 17 days and pay 1000k (tickets)

Conclusion: the 4 titles you're talking about are really hard to max , and this if you play only 1 character!

I think that they should add a ton of different ways to increase your lucky/unlucky title, so that just by playing through the game you get them up. For instance anytime you try to salvage and you break something you get your unlucky title up where as if it gets saved you get your lucky title up. This would have to give more points depending on rarity.

Since they're actually going to have an effect on the game it would make sense to give people legitimate ways to get them.

Nice idea Drew Almighty ll!

I don't want to spend my gaming time AFK during some holiday festival, just to increase one of my titles. I want to party, complete quests, play games (note: I don't classify Rings of Chance as a 'game'). Enabling us to actively increase these two titles whenever you wish would be a very nice idea (especially if the lucky title grants you a boon in Hard Mode). It's the same with the Gamer title. It's just sitting there, on the bottom of my titles-list, without any possibility to increase it atm.
