Title Prestige?
Okay, I have Legendary Survivor on my dervish. I'm proud of it, and proud of what it took me to get the title. I get compliments on the title every now and then, which feels nice. Some titles though, are extremely difficult to max.
So why not incorperate a small icon next to player's names in chat windows, to have a more "pronounced" prestige for those that have maxed a title? An icon related to the title, of course. People coudl turn this on or off in the options menu anyways.

meh it would clutter things, and its your choice to get the title or not but meh i guess your right that some titles are a bitch to get... i both agree and disagree so i will keep my verdict back for now.

Survidor is a title more about luck an patience than bout skill.
You may be the greatests of the great, but suffer a deadly lag hit...
Or being just a someones bored enough to go to very salfe places and far for low level exp for a long time... so...
If they changed the title to bypass a little the 0 deaths... something that coutns deaths versus experience, a division... then I would agree to make it more 'bang'.

I think instead of an icon their name should be written in another colour maybe? Like white or purple or something. That way there isn't clutter and the person gets recognition. This, obviously, would only apply when the title currently being displayed is maxed out. So a Protector of Tyria would have their name another colour, but a Drunkard would not until they become an Incorrigible Ale Hound

That would work too. Honestly, if there's going to be another rank above "I'm Very Important" in Eye of the North, then by god, anyone who maxes the absurd max titles should get a rainbow-flashing title.
MithranArkanere, Survivor is not about luck. The right way to do survivor is ALONE, with nothing but heroes and henchmen. Going with random groups of people greatly increases your chance of dying, and greatly increases your chance of lag spikes. The only reason a survivor dies before reaching their goal is by making a mistake. I utilized and designed a dervish build that kept my character safe, healthy, and still allowed me to contribute greatly to the party. In the entire time it took me to get the title, I never had a lag spike - because I never needed to go with other people to finish a mission. I did missions and quests until I reached up to around 700,000 - 800,000 experience. From there, I farmed Summit Slaves runs in Sorrow's Furnace to get 150,000 experience, then began capping elites for the rest.
Mastering Survival is not about being lucky, or running away from battle constantly, it's about knowing what you're doing, playing carefully, thinking ahead, being constantly aware of your surroundings, and using strategy. If you can't get Legendary Survivor it's not because of being unlucky. ;D

That whole title track is based of this line:
Quote:
I'm five-time Emmy award-winning lead anchor Ron Burgundy. I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal. People know me. I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

but anyway

I just don't see any reason for an increased reward. Max titles even get you ranks in the kind of a big deal title track. Everyone knew what the reward would be before they started working for the title. Maybe someone else feels that missions take a lot of effort and you should get 10k for finishing each one, but that's not going to happen either.

No, its about farming dumb mobs. Farming repeatable high gain-low risk quests. Capturing easy elites for a free 5000 exp. Using X times exp scrolls whenever possible.
Just because you may actually have to plan ahead sometimes doesn't make it any more skill based.
Personally i'd rather play the game than spend the entire time worrying about accidently deaths due to some silly mistake, overpowered boss, lag spike, etc.
Oh yeah... and the reason this thread was created. That would just be annoying and cause clutter. You should get a slightly more impressive title display box under your name if your displaying a maxed title or the KoaBD title track.

I'm Very Important is currently the highest available title in that track.

Personally I don't really like the survivor title, I remember Guild Wars being advertised early on as "having no permanent death penalties" which I really liked. But then they added the survivor title track which forces you to survive (at any cost for some people) I really do not like this because alot of people have old characters that they can't get this title on, or they get lag spiked which is completely unfair. I think it would be better "getting this much exp without dying" as apposed to "get this much exp without dying ever"

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it, but just to show its not only about farming dumb mobs or using scrolls or sigs, I finished all 3 campains with 0 deaths to show there is an amount of skills involved AND luck (i got lag spiked getting Razzah in a nasty mod and logged back on to 0 deaths to my suprise.)
After you learn how to play survivor, and i dont mean dumb npc farming, but by actually playing the game, not only do you outlive everyone in your PUG groups which i often do, but I dont have to worry about random death because I already know how to put myself in the best possible cenario to remain alive.
Sure luck definetly plays a roll but dont assume its bad luck if you died from lag spike, there will always be the things you should have, could have, would have done, but didnt do things.
Back ot the original post, sure i'd like the name coloring for max titles, but I doubt more reward and screen clutter is gona be high up on Anets pvp oriented to do list.
