Map Making
Everybody wants to see the full map right? Well for those who don't have it mapped out all the way, they have to go to guildwiki or some fansite.
But... what if... in game, you can make a map?
So, there could be some new NPC called a cartographer or something. You go to that NPC, give like 25 rolls of parchment and pay him a handsome fee. Then the mapmaker will make a map of you already explored. You can continue updating the map by paying the cartographer again... and again...
With this map, you can mas produce it (if you're that rich...) or just keep it in the storage so all of your characters can have a full map to look at.
This won't give everybody titles just because they have a complete map.
I was thinking, when you're in map mode (M). there'll be two buttons at the bottom left or right saying Regular map, and copied map or something like that. So then you can switch between the maps.
Then what would be really cool is if you could "draw" on the maps. Draw a line with a red line, generally to mark the path you're taking. Then on the compass map, a res line will be there. So then you can just follow the line.
That's my little suggestion, or idea... whatever.

So wait. Are you suggesting a way to make maps of existing areas, aka to basically fully explore an area, or do you mean a way to make maps a-la an ingame editor?
Oh, I think I know what you mean. You mean a way to buy a section of map that you can place as an overlay over your world map to see where you need to explore? If so, may be a good idea. Tired of that opacity in photoshop trick. Perhaps though you should only be able to make maps of areas you've been to, or, say, an area in RoF can only be cartographed by a cartographer in that area. It only seems practical, no lvl 5 should be running around knowing what RoF looks like, simply, well, it just doesn't seem logical.

/Signed, this is a great idea, too make it so you can get cartographer easier than ever. People would use this to check sections of the map to see where they need to explore and then go there, and so would I..

I do like the 'draw' thing, specially for the Hard Mode.
Why? Many times I kill anything but some mobs, that I leave for later.
With this, you could kill anything but a cetain boss, then note it in te map, then coma back later where you noted it.

Could it be saved like the skill sets are?
Because if you switch computers, you won't have your old sets on that character.
So it could work like that.
