A Fix for the Problem of Random Drops
I find it frustrating to play pve in hard mode and never get anything I want or can actually use. While I love the hardmode and all of the new things that have come along with it like elite tomes and such, I do find one problem. The only thing that I see as a problem is the randomization of the drops, and in prophecies you get drops that are often completely useless because of the requirements of the weapon, type of weapon, and you are unable to salvage the perfect inscription from it. Or you get an elite necromancer tome when what you really want is an elite monk tome. It would be nice if the rare drops could be traded for something at a trader in order to be useful, sort of like the gemstone system of NF, where you could accumulate so many of them and trade them for what you want. Maybe instead of a gold weapon you could get a gold nugget and so many nuggets could be traded for the weapons, mods, or tomes that you want at a trader, or sold as a rare crafting material for a fair amount of plat, arould 3-5plat seems reasonable to me, or be traded or sold among players. I propose replacing the rare gold drops completely with something like gold nuggets that could be used for this, so you would never get a gold bow that you cant use, instead you would get a gold nugget that you could trade at a npc trader for something that you want. Maybe 1 for a perfect mod, 3 for a perfect req 8 weapon, 5 for an elite tome of your choice, etc.

That would be like completely removing all drops but gold, and incresing the gold drops immensely.
That would be one thing: Boring.
They should just set the insignia and inscription systems worldwide once and for all.
They set the Material storage worldwide when NF came out.
Maybe with GW:EN, but they should do it.
That way you could get drops like +12 energy req 8 inscribable focus I often get in Nightfall, but everywhere, so drops in Cantha and Tyria are not only to be sold in the merchant.

On behalf of all bots I strongly support this idea. Any immediately profitable loot pleases us.
Think about why this is really bad idea in light of recent changes that were made specifically to counter the bots.

I dont know how you came up with that, what I suggested does not say that every time you get a drop it will be a gold nugget, it just means that on the occassion that you get a gold drop that it would instead be a gold nugget, something that you could use in exchange for something that you actually want through a NPC trader. You could still get other drops, however making some sort of rare crafting material that drops in place of purple items too isnt a bad idea, you could still exchange them for things at the npc, it would just require more of them. This suggestion would only make it easier for people to get stuff in exchange for their drops, not change the rate of rare drops.
I agree with Door Knewb, this would help with the games economy and eliminate alot of the WTS Spam because instead of people spamming wts for 5 different items it they would only be wanting to sell the gold nuggets.
As for the bot comment, that doesnt even make any since, if bots can be ran they will always be a problem no matter what it is they are programmed to farm, most bots are programmed to pick things up and sell them at the merchant anyway regardless of what they are, and are good only for turning items into gold at the merchant.

Actually prices of things would decrease because instead of depending on someone who has the thing that you want you would be able to get it from a trader. Right now you cant get mods or tomes in exchange for things at NPC traders so this we dont already have a system like this. Guess you just dont get the concept.
In fact i think it would cap the prices that things are sold at and sort of stabalize the game economy. For example if you could trade a rare crafting matarial, say a gold nugget valued at 5K for a perfect enchanting mod, or HP mod you would be less likely to pay 30K to the scammer trying to sell it for that in LA because you would be able to get whatever you wanted from an NPC if you spent enough time playing the game in high end areas. You could still buy and sell gold nuggets, but it would be at your convenience.

Won't work we need gold drops.
Maybe is the system had a way for nuggets to be dropt instead of purples at a certain percentage. For example after killing an elit boss 12 times you get.
1-Gold drop
2-Purple
5-Blue
2-Nuggets
Cut the purple drop rate in half and give it to the nuggets.

nuggets? another system thrown on top of an existing? ew.
the only thing suggested that I might wanna see later would be a place to exchange tomes and buy them like the rune trader. T
