We have a GvG only guild, we don't do either HoH or PvE so we have no other way to obtain celestial sigils...

Wouldn't be a nice idea to have a balthazar's priest trade Celestial Sigils for something like 10k balth factions?

If you could get a sigil for faction, no one would bother buying it from the trader. Then they would have no value and everyone that actually wins them in HoH will have nothing to do with the worthless pieces of junk. That wouldn't be very kind.

@Knightsaber Sith: i think a game should be fair for everyone... if this is called guild wars i'd like to be able to win sigils and something for my guild hall without haveing to PvE or HoH

Beware... i'm not moaing for having FoW armor in PVP Equipment or those cristalline... i'm only asking for alternate way of sigil acquisition.

You are a very select minority, why would the creators have to cater for every single individual? Wanting to get a Celestial Sigil and refusing to do any HoH or PvE is like wanting to drive a car but refusing to learn.

Well you can try yelling in Lion's Arch or someplace for a free sigil but apart from that then you don't really have much you can do

i think you misread my post... i didn't say "give us free sigils" i said... let's get a chance to trade a sum of balth for sigils...

and you know i'm not mad at all... just because during the Nightfall PvP preview event there were zaishen's medallion/flames (and you can read the rest of it on wiki if you missed it).

I said... put them back... even in gvg only matches... or put a similar mechanism back in the game...

i repeat... i don't want free sigils... i'd like "alternate" way to obtain them ...even 5k worth of balth for a flame and 10 flames for a sigil would be nice, 50k balth means winning 40 gvg... not a "quick way" or "farming way" to obtain them...

so... i still read as a "sigil farmer"?

So your trying to tell us that every single person in your guild only plays GvG ?

Even during the times when you don't have enough people online for a GvG match ?

I find that very hard to believe, and if that is true your guild is probably unique in that aspect. So how did you earn you first guild hall ?

What about people farming the balth faction at TA/RA ?
Or people crashing their guild rank (enter, resign, repeat) so that they can farm sigils on the way back up, before they crash it again ?

Though in principle I'm not against some way for halls to be earned from GvGing, I'd can't agree to any specific idea that allows people to exploit it for personal gain. Come up with such an idea and I'll support it.

There are a PvP and a PvE method to get them.

You probably are more than 10 people.
Each one goes to PvE and get 1k. That is not hard, just a couple of quests or something.

Ah... PvP only packs? No problem. HoH. Ah... you don't want to do HoH... ok... you'll never get a Sigil.

Buy a PvE campaign or try some HoH.

Even if they give this to you, are you going to ask to unlock all the Guild Hall NPCs for a few Balthazar faction again?

i don't really understand your polemic tone...

i only need an answer... was the nightfall pvp event method of getting sigils so broken? if you really play hoh you play for getting rare drop from chest (ie crysts) or for sigils (beside ranks obv)?

i had (since i started playing pve as nearly everyone) 3 sigils available and spent them as a guild leader during some guild hall changes (lamer necro spike period? change into a split hall to face them... is just a reason for a change).

i also sold some minis to get money back... but if i have 2 hours available for playing i prefer to do some gvg and not farming 30k for a sigil...

i repeat... i don't want some featurettes added i don't care about the weaponsmith throught balth or material crafter... i just want to be able to have the MAIN feature of a guild hall ... the ability to move it...

btw... how long you need to farm in ta/ra/ba to get 50k factions?
i think that you'd prefer to spend that time in uw farming ectos or doa for gems

as i said... anet already introduced a way of getting sigils by gvg...

i'm only asking... "make it harder, instead of 500 medallion do it 5000 but let us have an alternative way"

I've seen them for 11k.

That 'alternative way' was inside an event.
There are spirits you can buy in PvE and spirits you can get in events, but they remain for short time. If you want more, you have to do some PvE and buy them.

This is not very different.

Maybe they could make it so that if your guild wins 5(or some other number) consecutive gvg's one or a couple random people on the team recieve a sigil?

Or each gvg you win you get "sigil points" and trade x number of them in for sigils.

I am aware sigil prices have almost doubled lately (from 14k ish to 26k, and following that pattern by now it's probably even higher), though they are still, to some extent, affordable.

There should be some other way to obtain them indeed, though. A hard way, that is, or at least a way that cannot really be repeated excessively (such as a reward for, I don't know).

2 - Form a guild with hall
3 - Enter a GvG, then /resign once your far enough in for it to count
4 - Repeat step 3 as required.
5 - Now that your rank is low, flawless the guilds sitting with a similar rank till you have the required number of wins.
6 - One your rank is too high to flawless anyone matched against you, repeat step 3 onwards.
7 - Receive sigils, then profit while the sigil market crashes

If they make the wins high enough the time it'll take to do it wont really be worth the time of farming it. The numbers I put arent set in stone.

Don't see to easy of a solution.

I believe its rather uncommon that a full gvg guild would not have a single player that doesn't PvE or HA.

Im basically just a GvG person but occassionally ill dab into a little PvE. With a 2 hour time frame I guess it kinda sucks, but im sure someone in your guild (or a group) would be willing to get ya a sigil.

ayame ftw's suggestion is pretty good imo but its not implemented.

i think i have the solution, once u have “unlocked” a guild hall with a sigil u can swap to that hall for “free” if u need to change your hall.
To put it in other words, unlocking a guild hall with a sigil is like unlocking a skill with faction.

one idea could be a guild swapper pg... for XXX Balth you could only SWAP a guild... so you start buying/getting one sigil... then for Balth (or Guild Token with no valor) you could swap the guild hall...

They could also insert a guild unlocker by balth... so let's say 15k to unlock a guild hall and 50k (or guild token or what you like) for trading it...

atm they introduced the tournament coupon... with 0 merchant price...
can't they introduce the guild "token" for the SWAP of a guild hall?

btw swapping for free is too much.
