lvl 40... ouch................................
That's gonna hurt lol.
Well, if they're going to be level 40, they shouldn't have any cheesy monster skills like Mallayx, Glint, or Kuunavang, and so on.

I would actually prefer a monster with improved AI, rather than (as with hard mode, Mallyx etc.) just the same old retarded AI with simplistic attack and casting speed buffs.

/signed... I like the idea and it sounds like a lot of fun to go from boss to boss trying to take out these great beasts for some really cool armor.

IMO, this is the kind of thing MMOs are all about.

Improved AI is a totally different subject. The whole game needs better AI not just a handful of monsters.

The general idea of this particular thread is that there should be A. Some really hard PvE experience to defeat that is not overly time consuming. B armor as the reward for doing it, so that everyone would know you did it.

Much like the Deep and Urgoz, but with lower duration and higher difficulty. Sounds good to me.

I actually....had an idea like this.

The Blackfire Guild. A powerful guild hell bent on finding powerful opponents.

The Blackfire Guild ROAMS the world of Guild Wars. They will appear randomly in a instanced, explorable Hardmode zone and challenge players.

The Blackfire will be high level, full parties, full skill bars and the zone will have no monsters.

If you can kill them, they will drop Blackfire armor drops or greens, which is your trophy for defeating them. These can be exchanged between characters, but not traded with other players.

The "look" of the blackfire armor is very dark with blue flames. So you would essentially have armor thats a giant IDS ^^

i think a lvl 40 is a teeny bit much. maybe like 35 or 36. but i agree this would be a great idea.

Would make a good challenge for any one and a lot more attainable the FoW armor.

Im not against the idea but i have to say that once its been done a few times, cookie cutter builds will pop up and it will no longer be about skill. So if its to show someones skill then you are sadly mistaken.

Make very balance party for those boss's, 2 monk 2 mesmer, warrior with "shields up" ect...

A-net, dont be afraid to make strong enemy team that a very well balance and prepared for anything.

Remember the Sorrow's Furnace Golem?
You have to move so it do not crush you. You can't just set a build and mash skills.

The Golem could drop one of the pieces.

I very much like this idea. I would like nothing more than to have a high level quest like this added to Hard Mode with having to travel from continent to continent to hunt them down. It could even be implemented like the Glint/Titan quests but instead of the Titans, you have to hunt down certain members of an evil guild, say maybe given by Kormir if you know what I mean. Maybe even some renegade Ascalon's Chosen guild members who went nuts after Rurik was killed and after having been trapped in the RoT themselves.

The Verata order could be another one... they are are far from most outposts, they are a bother to kill and gather awesomely easily even with carefull aggroing.

My only gripe is the 'across all continents' part other wise I'm fine with it

but I'd be extremely disappointed if this armour's design sucked.
