Guild Wars the series
ok this does not exactly pertain to the game but this is an idea i have had since i first say the proph preview cinematic.
what if anet made a series, useing the same graphics as a the preview movies, that followed devona and co, and sold them on dvd. the first set of dvds would be proph, second would be factions, then night fall then eye of north. i know this seems dumb but i would love this and i would soooo buy it but really this is just a minor idea im just throwing out. kinda silly actually lol but tell me what you think.

Sorry I am cheap and prob wouldnt buy the DvD. I would like the option to replay cinematics though. That is one of the things i miss about diablo 2. I skip alot of times because 7 of 8 do and i dont want to be the ass that sticks them watching it. We should already have them on our computers or be able to down load them fairly quickly so it should be that hard of an option to add.

I know you can replay the introduction cinematic for each mission now, but I wish they made it so you can replay the in mission cinematics, without having to do the mission all over again.

I believe you guys are missing the point of this topic. Yes, I would also like a replay in-mission cinematic function (Maybe an NPC in the last mission area of each campaign, for instance) but the OP is getting at something else.
If you installed Guild Wars (Prophecies) off of the discs, there was a special "preview" video that featured an FMV animated in a stand-alone style not seen ANYWHERE in the campaigns. It didn't use the game engine and pretty well-animated. Factions and Nightfall may have had the same, I remember that a few sites like GameTrailers.com had a trailer for Factions that featured a fight scene between Shiro and warriors and then his death scene and the scream that petrified the forest and jade...d the seas. It was a very cool video, to say the least.
The OP probably wants an animated movie/series based off of each campaign focusing only on the Heroes of Ascalon and related storyline characters (like Master Togo.)
The way I see it, it could be very cool and highlight some major fights, but at the same time it would be kind of strange since they "do" everything for you. You wouldn't have to play the game then, it would just be a movie and even though experience wouldn't be the same, you might not feel a need to play the games afterward, or a need to watch the movie after beating the games. Maybe if they made a movie to go with Eye of the North as another bridge to GW2 or a bridge between what happened in the other campaigns to Eye of the North it would be efficient, but I doubt that this idea would be a total success of any sort.

yes even though this does seem like it would be a major spoiler or if you beat the game it would not seem worth watching but think of this, if you read the handbook that came with proph and read taht little short story thing about devona and co you saw some really intersting dynamics that yu really cant bring out in a game.
plus lots of nerdy fanboys would get this just so when they arent playing GW they are watching it >.< j/k
but really i would get this cause 1 the animation would be far greater than any show ive ever seen and 2 it would be great to get deeper into the plot of GW and the chars cause people dont really follow the storyline when they try to beat a game and grind through it.

Special Preview?
I didn't get such a thing when I installed through the discs for all three games.
But a GW movie would be interesting.

I'll just say that those cinematics aren't exactly cheap to produce, and Gaile made a poll asking what kind of GW merchandise we'd like.

ANet doesn't produce those videos, they are produced by another company. And they're expensive like hell.

If they gave it with a collector edition or something, I would buy it.
Standalone I would not.

For those who haven't seen the vids they're here:

Guild Wars Factions Cinematic
Guild Wars Cinematic Trailer
Both give me shivers and if they were movie previews you'd have found me camping out to be the first to see them.

yes see thats my point this would be great profit for A-net. Hard core GW fans would buy it, more profit. Non-GW players may see it and find it cool and buy it, more profits. thoses people who dont play gw that buy it might start playing GW, way more profits. this would be great for anet and i would LOVE to get it

Well they're expensive to make. It would mean more revenue for sure, but I'm not sure it would translate into profit.
totally /signed though, I'd love to see it.

Id buy it xD I'm currently getting my parents to buy me every GW thing I can get my hands on :P It would be cool if it was a series with the graphics of the preview cinematics (the Prophecies and Factions ones, not the cheap Nightfall one ^^)
