I'd do that, but where I live, unfortunatly doesn't have the things I play guild wars for, mountains, snow, continent (I live on a small island), asian type buildings, archery.

Here's an idea: allow us to WALK!!! I hate having to do the funky chicken so I don't run ahead of a slow moving NPC. It wouldn't be hard, the animations already exist (just look at any skill that slows you or an opponent down), you just have to assign it to a key.

Eldin, they can not create an entirely new engine with a 50 dollar price? Why is this so elusive, they charge us enough for a total redevelopment of the game in every chapter, as if they really need to redevelope the entire game, they just need to alter the movement mechanics.
A Philosopher once said, "Change goes through three phases. First is violent opposition, Second is denial, and Third is Vindication."
The inability to see it, given more than acceptable resources and capability, really doesn't amount to anything. The capitol is there to fund this addition, and it can be done, it is not the Mona Lisa of game programming, even a total overhaul of the movement engine in the game should fall under the 50 dollar cost of any single new chapter, so stop being ignorant.
If at any point you feel that anything remotely unbelievable can't be in the game, walk over some lava one more time and then tell the developers it HAS TO BE REMOVED because believability is more important than enjoyement and interest. It is certainly more realistic for us to swim in armor or jump 10 feet in armor, which would require superhuman strength, than it is to not incineration instantly upon stepping in lava, which even modern technology cannot withstand, or Survive a Meteor blow at all. Naturally, a Warrior is stronger than the other classes, befitting his heavier armor, and just about all other armors are little more than cloth and hides. Certain things are in the game because they are intriging, and players enjoy the interaction, creating sufficient barriers and disabling this function in previous chapters, or rather just omitting it in general is exactly no effort included whatsoever, so stop making deficient excuses as well.
There are lines between realisim and enjoyment, obviously we enjoy these games because they arn't real and we can do many things not available to us in real life, as well including many things we can do in real life. Likewise, there are some things that are totaly believable which don't belong in a game, because maintaining a sense of mystisizm and wonder makes the game more fun, just because it can realistically exsist, or work a different way realisitcly doesn't mean it should be that way in the game, like the lava that isn't an instant death hazard.
The game would simply be more fun and attractive to new and exsisting players if abilities like Swimming, Climbing and Jumping are added, and it is well within the cost they are charging us, and there really is no other position on the subject, thanks for bothering though.

Fulfilling player interest is a "need", FYI, a games purpose is entertainment. There is no need for GW or any other game ever created, need isn't a prerequisite.

Taking a crap is a basic fundamental human movement. Why can't i do this in guild wars? Come on anet, throw out the old guild wars, completely redesign everything, make me chuck my old characters in the trash because i want to take a crap in an online game. Why won't anyone listen to me?

Ah, yes, the main gripes I have about movement in GW are the lack of the Z-axis and the horrible AI pathing. Jumping, swimming and climbing are far less important than solving those problems, imo. Would be nice to have them, but far from necessary. Funny thing about Z-axis is, even tho movement and placement detection is screwed up in that direction, projectiles calculate perfectly, even allowing for bonuses and penalties to archery, different trajectories and whatnot... it seems to me that al least some sense of heigth in imbued in the engine, only not translated to all of it. Can it still be changed for the same game? I don't know. I would very much hope so.
And yes, as the poster above said... /jump.

"Not enough keys" for a game played on a keyboard with 52+ keys and seven or so modifier key combinations is not a valid reason.

Those are elder scrolls...
Jumping would increase the need for more servers, costing more money, this CORPG (competitive online rpg) was designed to be efficient as possible and fun. It is doing both just fine for myself.

Adding a better Z axis is an intregal part of a climbing and jumping function, they were cheap with the height recognition when they made it, making overlapping areas broken, adding a working Z axis goes hand in hand with climbing and jumping functions, of which would really need them.

I think eventually they're going to have to add a Z-axis. Not necessarily for jumping, but just for more interesting environments.

Finish Sanctum Cay + Bonus in under 5 minutes.
/notsigned
Althought it would've been nice there are just a few too many problems that would arise from implimenting jumping, climbing, swimming, etc. into the game at this point.

Jumping isnt needed, you want realism ? get rid of the wands, get rid of the dwarves get rid of the spells and get rid of jumping as no medievil knight wearing full platemale would be able to jump in the first place.
GW is a game not real life and therefore it doesnt have to obey "fundamental human movements" hence the magic........... if your not happy go back to WOW.
