Reinforcement option in AB
This thread is supposed to lower the impact of leavers and those who lost connections during an Alliance Battle fight. The whole thing will work as this:
During waiting on battle and searching for a group, you can turn on a switch telling system that you can be used as a reinforcement. That means, that when someone lost connection or just leave the battle before specific time (maybe you can set it for yourselves), you can be chosen to replace him and you get a confirmation dialog for that. In order to prevent the possibility to enter an already lost battle you will reinforce only battles where the time left compared to difference between scores is reasonable. This way the leavers will not ruin the battle as much as it is now when they leave at the begining. After the point where reinforcements will not come or nobody is replacing the leaver, he can be replaced by a henchman.
After all this is war and reinforcements are vital part of battles .
I think that there are many players who just enjoy grouping and playing when they don't have friends online so they are a perfect match for this.
Possible bot protection:
For stopping abusement by bots there can be a periodicaly generated random noisy character code you must write down like on webpage confirmation forms. After x-th battle the option is automaticaly disabled so you must reenable it and write the new generated code.

i really like this idea. There have been so many times where not only is my side losing horribly, but me and like 4 other people are actually fighting/not afk or have left the game or disconnected.

I would definitely enter only as reinforcement, XD.

Thanks for support. I hope that more people will come and sign. It will help people and increase our experience from the game, so when we wait for a battle for 10 minutes we know that when someone leaves, he will be replaced so it wouldn't dissapoint us as much and we will stay for another fight not mentioning that the the fight becomes more fair.

Personally, I love this idea....however please allow me to play Devil's Advocate for a minute. I see some potential problems.
1. Commonly, people leave when they are losing. This means that most likely the reinforcements will always be joining sucky teams. Soon most players will grow tired of this and won't want to be reinforcements.
2. Similiar to #1, lots of people start to leave when the score is say...450 to 80. I don't want to enter battle as a reinforcement only to see the DEFEAT flash up 2 seconds later. Need some kind of minimum time left before adding reinforcements into the battle.
3. How are you going to prevent botters from taking advantage of this? I could set up a bot to stay in the arena all day clicking "add me to reinforcement list" and get free faction just by going into battle and doing nothing. No need to even join a decent team. Just click "add me" and leave.

I AB a lot, and I know full well the frustration of players rage quitting.
Because the way instancing works in Guild Wars, I don't know how feasible it is to join a battle in progress. The mechanics would be different than reconnects I would imagine.

That's why I mentioned that reinforcements are possible only to a certain time, surely it will be no 2 secs before end . But the second indicator (as you mentioned) can be that the team isn't loosing too much, so it will be considered as the battle is already lost and the reinforcements are a waste of time .
I'll try to find a solution to prevent botters to misuse this feature.

Interesting idea, but easily abusable. I would just replace the leavers with hench. Not as elegant, but it would probably be easier to do and would leave little room for abuse.

easy way to stop botters, if you do not engage in combat with a certain amount of time you are booted from the AB and replaced with a reinforcement, leechers and leavers are taken care of in one fel swoop, better ab for all ^^

I enjoyed AB up until the time where it seemed every team I joined had an afk or two. I'd love to be able to votekick/reinforce the team. But if you have 2 or more afk's,..how will you votekick them off?

I think there is a solution that even bot can not overtake. Just on enabling this option you must write a code consisting let's say from 5 letters or numbers. It's the known thing with noisy rotated characters you must write to confirm a form or something on a webpage. And in addition let's say after each 5-th fight this option is automaticaly disabled so you must reenable it and write a new generated code again.

Hm... I thought reinforcement means that if someone leaves after a victory, you'll get another plae to the team, not that you'll get it while you play.
That is, obviously, you won't get reinforcements while the battle is on, only between the start timer and the start of the battle.
So only those who already won would get reinforcements.
Bots are a problem everywhereand have to be dealt with, but it's not that this would make the problem, they can already join a normal battle.

No, reinforcement is needed during the battle not after it. There you can take someone for yourself. The minimun is to replace those leavers with henchs, but it's PvP so more adequate solution would be to replace him with another player.

I like this idea a lot, but I'd rather say, only get reinforcements for the first 10 - 15 minutes of battle, would be a lot better then having to do huge calculations on factions gained and assume the remaining time.
It should also be possible to use the reinforcement system if a votekick system would be implemented to get rid of leechers.
